The girls’ night ploy was working wonderfully for Ginger and Benji. The pair would go off and do their own thing while Ylana, Lily, and Olive continued to get to know each other better – it was proof that their families could get along. Lily and Ylana loved Olive and they were all becoming fast friends. 


Ginger only wished she could share her happiness with the rest of the family. Harkin rarely brought up the Emeralds and all Rowan did was complain about them. Apparently, after a few vampires had to be killed for trying to murder humans, the vampires started hunting in small packs. There was always at least one other vampire to keep watch while the other fed. This caused Rowan to send more of their pack members into the city to prevent the murders. However, if things continued to go as they were, the pack was going to end up being spread thin.
