The words prince kylis said

They walked to the palace garden,it was filled with beautiful trees and flowers. They stood in front of a tree, prince kylis in the middle, prince nate  and prince jers beside him.

"Me being the crown prince, does not guarantee that I'll be the king, when his majesty dies. I may not even live long",prince kylis said as he stared at the tree.

Prince nate and prince jers went on their knees in front of prince kylis and bowed to the ground.

Nate look worried as he spoke, "please don't say that 1st brother, the heavens have given you good health since you were young, why will you speak of premature death for yourself, please forbid it for yourself, your highness",he pleaded.

"1st brother, you will live long!",prince jers yelled.

" Your highness,1st brother,this dead one is envious of your health for you are like a lion",prince nate said still on his knees.

" Stand",prince kylis said calmly and the two princes stood.

Prince kylis looked at the tree in front of them and watched how the wind blew the dead leaves down," prince nate,do you see that dead leaf,up".

" 1st brother,they are many dead leaves,which one do you speak off".

" Look at my direction",prince kylis said calmly.

" I think I see it",nate said as he spotted it.

Prince kylis placed his hands behind his back," natural death is not the only way,someone can die,prince nate you know that well.

The palace is a place that peasants envies,the palace is a beautiful yet a dangerous place,it's like a land with different kingdoms fighting each other just to be able to control other kingdoms,the small kingdoms shouldn't be underestimated.

Prince nate,prince jers,I wish all the sons, daughters,consorts and royal concubines are united,just like a some commoners family that I have seen family,but sadly it's just a wish.

Brothers do you know how father became the king when he was the 13th prince and a concubine's son?".

" All the princes died of a strange illness",prince jers answered.

Prince kylis nodded as he turned to prince nate" Oh,what about you,prince nate?",prince kylis asked.

Nate eyes looked distant but at the same time it tells something he cannot say,"I dare not say anything,1st brother,we may lose our heads if what I know it's true and I also fear you know,but it's better that we don't speak".

Prince kylis nodded,"it looks like you know.Of course,you are a very curious person,and I know you got help from no one".

"You are right,first brother,but how did you know",prince Nate asked.

Prince kylis exhaled,"His majesty told me before I went for war but that's not the odd part".

He looked at prince nate," he told me I'll be the crown prince but the position belongs to someone else,he said prince aris looks more like him compared to other princes but he sees himself in another prince but I won't speak of the prince's name.

His majesty told me himself ,that even though am a commander and I fight very well in battle, am a weak prince".

" You're not weak,first brother",prince nate and prince jers chorused.

" Prince nate,prince jers,listen.

The officials and other nobles that are not courtiers are loyal to his majesty.

However, among the princes and consorts,they are powerful ones,they want to be loyal to the powerful one so when one rise to the throne,they will be highly favored.

My mother,the late queen,didn't come from a powerful noble family,I don't have anyone,even my remaining relatives have chosen to be loyal to consort silver line,but am happy that due to the love his majesty had for my mother he has not chosen a new queen".

Prince kylis exhaled as he looked towards his palace direction,"my beautiful wife is sick but I want to live happily with her and my beautiful little princess who is a year old,princess kresna.

I don't wish to harm my brothers or their families for the fear that they'll harm me.

Prince nate don't underestimate anyone,even your brother,prince karl,who is sixteen years old and the same blood of your mother.

"Yes,your highness", prince Nate said.

"And back to the leaf we were looking out,it hasn't been blown by the wind yet,can you see that brothers?",kylis asked.

"You're right!",prince jers exclaimed.

"I see it too",prince nate said.

Prince kylis continued,"i have been staring at it as I spoke,the wind blew other leaves even those that were not completely dead,other leaves must have thought it will fall but it didn't".

Prince kylis faced prince nate and placed his hands on his shoulder,"I have a feeling that you are like that leaf.

You're dying doesn't mean you're dead,you are not a dead man,don't be someone that will just live and die,don't be in history as just a prince,but as a prince with a story,can you do that for me,prince nate?".

Prince nate looked at him straight in his eyes with fear,"1st brother,you make me scared when you speak like this,why do you sound like you know that'll you die,tell me the ones you feel will kill you and I will kill them".

"Prince  nate answer me first!",prince kylis commanded.

" If the heavens -".,rince Nate was cut off

Prince kylis griped nate arms tightly,his eyes showed worries,"you don't need to wait for the heavens!"

"Then...I'll..he.. heed to your words your highness",nate stuttered.

Prince kylis released his hands from him.

"What about me 1st brother,I want to be like the dead leaf too",prince jers whined.

Kylis chuckled,"you're not a dead leaf, you're a free bird".

" How do you know?",prince jers smiled.

Kylis nodded," because I know.

Lastly,prince nate ,i want you to promise me one last thing".

Nate went on one knee,with his hand resting on the leg that was not kneeling," anything of my capability,1st brother".

" If anything bad happens to me or my wife,protect princess kresna like she's your sister".

" 1st brother,princess kresna is already my sister",prince Nate said.

" Alright,let's not talk about death,the banquet is near,1st brother,the little princess is waiting for you,I must wear my best garments",prince jers said as he ran away.

" See you at the banquet,1st brother",nate bowed and left prince kylis.
