Chapter Twelve : Changing Train

"Hey"

"Mhmm" Yu Dulin hummed as she saw the face of Lin Feng

"Im sorry..i need to tell you something"

suddently Yu Dulin's expression changed

"we are not from the same world."

Finally, Li Feng spoke out, because the system had just issued the final task.

[Task Three: Successfully bring everyone to Busan, reward unknown, no punishment for failure.]

This meant that once Li Feng brought everyone to Busan, he would have completed all the tasks and would immediately return to the real world. So, despite the pain and reluctance, he didn't want Yu Dulin to get deeper into this. They had no future together, and it was better to tell her sooner.

"What... what do you mean?"

Hearing Li Feng's words, Yu Dulin couldn't help but widen her eyes. She had known from the news that her parents in Seoul had already fallen. She had thought that at least Li Feng would be there with her. Was he also leaving her now?

Tears flowed more and more, tracing down her lovely cheeks. She reached out her hand, but ultimately pulled it back. Li Feng turned and looked out the window, his voice clear and cold.

"Yes, I'm not from this world. We won't have a future. Forget about me..."

Although his words were slow, they were resolute. In an instant, Yu Dulin felt like she was the only person in the world, alone and helpless. She couldn't help but cry out in pain.

Ignoring Yu Dulin's sobbing, Li Feng stood up and walked to the connection between the sixth train carriages, gazing at the outside world in a daze. Since they couldn't be together, it was better to leave each other a way out and forget each other.

...

"Hey, Yishanghua!"

Beside them, Hanshengjing couldn't help but push her husband's arm, raising her chin to signal Li Feng at the carriage connection.

"What's wrong?"

Yishanghua looked puzzled at his wife.

"You!"

Hanshengjing was a bit annoyed as she pinched her scatterbrained husband, pointed at the two people crying and lost in thought, and gestured for him to go to Li Feng and find out what was going on.

"Oh, okay."

Understanding her, he smiled at his wife and headed towards Li Feng.

"Tsk."

Exasperated, Hanshengjing gave her clueless husband a disdainful look but walked over to comfort Yu Dulin quietly.

"Hey, kid, what's going on with you guys?"

Yishanghua came up to Li Feng, casually draping his arm around his shoulder and saying with a carefree tone. However, he looked around as if he didn't care about anything.

"Heh, nothing."

Li Feng chuckled lightly and gave no response. Even if he told Yishanghua about their situation, this easygoing guy probably wouldn't believe him. So why bother explaining? Besides, he wasn't from this world, and it was better if fewer people knew.

"Cut it out, kid! You don't know what I've been through, much more than you!"

"Don't believe me? Tell me!"

With that, he even raised his eyebrows playfully.

"Forget it, you wouldn't understand even if I told you!"

With a sigh, Li Feng turned to look out the window.

"You little brat!"

Yishanghua was infuriated and punched Li Feng's arm, but he felt unusually tough. He couldn't help but be surprised. No wonder this kid had been so tough all along.

"Hey, how did you train your arm like this?"

As she asked, her topic changed unconsciously.

"Just trained it that way."

Li Feng still said lightly. He couldn't just tell Yishanghua that it was because of the threefold attributes from the system, or he'd be considered crazy.

"You?!!"

Yishanghua was speechless; this kid was really unapproachable! Although she hadn't asked anything, after she mingled with Li Feng, she felt that the sadness she had just experienced had dissipated a bit.

Bang!

Suddenly, a loud noise rang out, followed by the screeching of brakes.

The great inertia made everyone lean forward, and the two people standing in the train aisle couldn't help but brace themselves against the restroom door to counteract the inertia.

After everything calmed down, the voice of the train conductor came through the speakers once again.

"Attention, passengers, the train can only stop at Daegu Station due to an obstacle on the tracks ahead."

"Therefore, we have to choose to wait for rescue here, or take another train to Busan. After this announcement, I will immediately go to the garage to move the operational train to the leftmost track. I repeat, the leftmost track!"

"If you are still alive, please be careful when moving. Good luck, everyone..."

"What's going on? Do we need to get off?"

The people in the carriage looked at each other, their faces turning pale.

Changing trains on the spot? This meant that they had to leave the safety of the carriage and face the unknown world once again.

The scenes from Daejeon Station came to their minds: the crazed zombies, the beastly roars, and the fear they couldn't help but recall.

After a pause, everyone's eyes turned to Li Feng.

"Let's get off!"

Li Feng looked at everyone and calmly suggested. Since the tracks ahead were blocked, waiting in the carriage for death wasn't an option. It was better to get off and take a chance.

Moreover, the plot had reached this point, and there shouldn't be a repeat of the situation where Rongguo and Junhee were infected by Director Kim during the train change.

Now, their main problem was the insane zombies and the need to protect pregnant women and children. So they couldn't afford to be distracted. Thinking of this, Li Feng couldn't help but speak again:

"I'll go ahead. Women, walk in the middle. Rongguo and your classmates, walk in the back. Remember to protect everyone!"

"Okay!"

The people all agreed in unison. After working together for so long, they had developed the necessary synergy. They wouldn't question why anymore, as protecting women was a man's nature.

"Let's go!"

Nodding, Li Feng led the way in front, carefully looking around when he reached the carriage door. Seeing no zombies, he opened the door and jumped down.

One by one, they jumped down, and when it was Yu Dulin's turn, Li Feng couldn't help but reach out to help.

People were like that, even if they had decided to let go, they couldn't help but care.

"Be careful."

He whispered before turning away, and that indifferent demeanor made it seem like he hadn't been the one who helped her.

"Is he concerned about me?"

Yu Dulin muttered to herself as she watched Li Feng's back, a trace of smile appearing on her face.
