"I was a servant in the residence of the young master's mother. She told me to stay with him as his maid," Sienna replied with no hint of hesitation in her voice, flawlessly delivering her lies.
Earlier, before Lemiel and her left the balcony, he told her what she should say when people in the castle would ask where she came from and why she was chosen to be Davi's personal maid.
The mention of the young master's mother piqued Clark's curiosity. He didn't know how it was possible that the duke had a son all these years. The story about his second marriage was hardly believable enough, but then, he could tell that the boy was indeed his master's son. It made him think that it was something everyone had missed. After all, his master Lemiel was a man full of surprises.
"The young master's mother? From what family?" Clark cleared his throat and added immediately, "If the duke has not allowed such information to leak, I won't demand an answer."
