"Indeed. I met Nicholas a few days ago in Clevehill and he mentioned that his son was offered the position of the prince's adviser by the king." The older vampire turned to Lemiel. "You spoke with William, what happened?"

Lemiel took a sip from his glass of blood before he answered.

"It wasn't the king's doing. Dylan simply doesn't want the position. He volunteered to take the chancellor position in my council. He must have realized that his purpose in life is to work under a great man such as myself. I couldn't blame him."

"That is foolish," Criselle remarked. "The prince's adviser is a high position in the palace. He could become the king's adviser once the prince takes over the throne. Why would he choose to work under a duke's wing?"
