The coachman didn't notice that the young man who had just climbed into the carriage had jumped off, and Sienna was too stunned to speak. The carriage continued to move and she looked down at the small bag the man had thrown into her lap.
She set her bag of spices down beside her and opened the stranger's knapsack. It was wrong to pry into someone else's belongings but curiosity got the better of her. She also sensed something was wrong with the young man's actions.
Sienna's jaw dropped when she saw what was inside the bag.
It was filled with gold coins!
What on earth had she gotten her hands on?
Before she could ask the coachman to stop and find out what had happened, the horses neighed and the carriage came to an abrupt halt. The two horses reared, tilting the carriage, and Sienna fell out.
