Anurak stared into Sophea's eyes, begging for her understanding in silence. All his pain and yearnings were in that look, but Sophea had already taken the first step. She couldn't go back now.
She broke their silent gaze and looked around. A lot of people had their phones out, recording the fight. Sophea signed. Maybe she shouldn't have done it here. This was too embarrassing. Not just for Anurak. For herself too. It was better to put an end to this show so she could go lick her wounds in a corner.
She sighed.
"Anurak, please, let's breakup. I don't love you anymore."
Anurak flinched. His already pale face went whiter. Even the red marks of Sophea's palm imprinted on his cheek got whitened.
She was breaking up with him? Why? What happened to their promises and dreams? Why was she doing this? Anurak didn't understand. He couldn't process it. How could this happen?
