The morning after

The first thing he was conscious of was a low ebbed pain at the back of his neck. The pain seems to be coming from somewhere in his brain and radiating downward. The more aware he became, the more painful it got.

Anurak was finally awake, but he found it very hard to open his eyes. His body felt like it had turned into stone. Just moving his hands felt like lifting a bag of cement. His hand slowly rose and found its way to his head. He wanted to use it to massage the spot where his headache seemed to be more concentrated. To do this, he would need to move his neck. But the moment he did, he was assaulted by a blinding pain that had him huffing and puffing. Cold sweat broke out on his face and back, and he had to grit his teeth to stop the screaming that was bubbling like hot water in his throat.

What happened to me? Why so much pain? What should I do?

“Breathe. Relax and breathe." King's soothing voice echoed in his head.
