Chapter 7

Inside the Metropolis Museum during the charity gala in Luthor Hall, Clark stood in front of a chest piece. The chest piece had a snake in the shape of an S in the center with gems surrounding it as it shone underneath the light overhead. Which made it look more gaudy showpiece than actual functional.

"You know it belonged to Alexander the Great? They said the design symbolizes strength and courage." Suddenly a male voice interrupted Clark musing of the piece.

Turning his head, Clark saw Lex Luther appearing beside him as they looked at the piece before them. Even after thinking about it for a moment, Clark still didn't see it.

"I can't exactly see myself going into battle with that on my chest." Clark joked.

'You would be surprised.' Leonardo lightly laughed.

"Darker times call for darker methods. His opponents thought he was invincible." Lex smiled as he explained.

'If you're a tyrant maybe.' Leonardo grumbled at Lex's statement.

Clark had a similar thought to Leonardo, but didn't agree with him either. Instead he decided to change the topics.

"I didn't know you were such a history buff." Clark responded.

"I'm not. I'm just interested in people who ruled the world before they were thirty."

'Well, isn't that foreshadowing.' Leonardo dryly said.

"Don't worry, Lex. You still have a few years to go."

A young girl's voice spoke behind the two. Turning around, dressed nicely, a girl with asian features and brown hair smiled at them. Which made Clark's heart beat a tiny bit faster as his crush, Lana Lang talked to him.

'Ah, here comes the shallow girl. Boo hoo, my parents are dead. My aunt gives me everything from love and care, but I feel abandoned and alone. Why does the world hate me and why does everyone keep secrets from me.' Leonardo grumbled upon seeing Lana.

'Knock it off, Leo.' Clark angrily said. 'Lana isn't like that.'

'Please, you only say that because you idolize her and don't actually look at her below the surface level.' Leonardo retorted.

Due to being stuck in Clark's body and unable to separate, making them spend every moment together. Leonardo and Clark at the moment have very little patience with each other at the moment. Not to mention Leonardo's immense dislike for Lana which even surpasses his dislike for Lex at the moment.

"Lana, I didn't know you were here." Clark smiled at Lana.

"Didn't Lex tell you?" Lana sent Lex a questioning look.

Lex just smiled as he began to walk away. "Must have slipped my mind. Why don't I just leave you two?"

'Tsk, Lex and Lana, I hope when they get married they torment each other until they are old and in the grave.' Leonardo cursed as began to throw a tantrum in Clark's head.

Clark just rubbed his forehead as this always happens when Leonardo sees Lana and Lex together or within a short time period. After the first time, Clark, while feeling uncomfortable, got used to Leonardo cursing the two.

"Is everything alright Clark?" Lana asked and sounded concerned.

"It will be-." Leonardo attempted to speak. 'When you leave! Ahh! Clark let me out.'

"It just feels like I am undressed." Clark stopped Leonardo's words and played it off as a stutter.

'No, you can't be rude to Lana.' Clark fired back at Leonardo.

"Well, if it feels any better, Whitney feels the same way." Lana lightly giggled as she pointed behind her.

There at a small table, Clark saw a teenager about seventeen or eighteen sitting there looking uncomfortable. Dressed in a suit with his blonde hair combed and decently handsome. Clark could only smile bittering realizing that Lana's boyfriend was here with her.

"Why don't you join us? I'm going to go yank Nell away from the jewelry exhibit so we can eat." Lana offered.

Leonardo took control of Clark's body and began to leave. "Sorry, I think I am going to take off. It is over a three hour trip home and I need to get back home for tomorrow's chores."

'What are you doing, Leo.' Clark asked with gritted teeth. 'Doesn't it seem kind of rude to leave.'

'So? Isn't it also kind of rude to invite another guy on an outing when one is out with their boyfriend?' Leonardo shot back.

Clark stayed silent as they stepped out of the building where the night breeze rolled across them. Not to mention the sound and smell of Metropolis that assaulted their nose. Walking down the steps, Leonardo looked at the lone bus on this semi empty street.

During which, to Leonardo and Clark's surprise, the driver clutched his chest as he fell onto the wheel. When they looked over to see a homeless man and his dog asleep on the bus bench. It didn't take much to know that the bus was heading straight at the man.

Racing over, Clark wanted to stand in front of the bus. Which annoyed Leonardo who fought for control and grabbed the back end while digging in his heels. Almost immediately the bus began to slow down before coming to a halt right before the bench where the homeless man slept.

Then after removing prints and hand imprints, Leonardo returned to the spot before stopping the bus. Since it would seem suspicious if he just vanished right after the bus accident. Then, acting as if a normal person, he lightly jogged over to where a man with a badge came out of the bushes.

'Where did he come from?' Clark wondered.

'Clearly the bushes and if we followed your idea. Well, good luck trying to explain why you are unscathed after caving in the front of the bus as well causing an unnecessary large amount of damage.' Leonardo replied before asking the man who was looking at the bud driver. "Is everything ok?"

The man before him had a rectangle face with dark eyes and a receding hairline. He wore a blue button up shirt underneath a dark coat, which hid a gun and badge. Which spooked Clark slightly since it showed the man before them was a police officer of Metropolis Police.

"Yeah, everything is under control. It seems that the driver suffered from a heart attack." The man answered. "Now back away and give me some room to work."

Stepping back, Leonardo soon left once he knew the bus driver was fine. Which alerted the people inside the museum as the flashing lights of the ambulance lit up the dark street.

'Now, let's get home.' Leonardo talked to Clark as he walked away with his hands behind his head.

'How are you so much better at hiding our abilities than me?' Clark asked.

'Thinking before acting. Our brain can process far faster than the fastest supercomputer on this planet. So I calculated how to stop the bus with the least amount of damage and lowest chances of being seen.' Leonardo replied. 'Something you have yet to consider if a few of your last few fights are to go by.'

'Hey, I do consider things.' Clark grumbled.

'A graveyard almost destroyed, various parts in the barn, abandoned factory, ripping doors clear off a car unnecessarily, and shall I talk about ripping the top off Lex car?' Leonardo listed a few of Clark's past actions.

Clark stayed silent at his words and began to reflect on the times he listed and how many times it nearly got him caught. Especially with Lex, who was investigating the car accident.
