“Even cuddlier,” Chloe sighed, half-opening one eye to find me staring at her.

“Am I?”

“Uhuh.”

“Is everyone worried about me again?” I asked, feeling out of the loop and more than a little disorientated.

“No…you just needed to sleep…but your brain isn’t bruised anymore?” Chloe said, clearly not quite awake.

“Isn’t it?”

“You’re not worrying anymore…are you?”

“No…I don’t think so…I’m not really sure?” I murmured, not sure that I was really awake myself. And then my body let me down, for the first time in ages. I did not even feel it coming and I whimpered as I felt the mess oozing between my legs.

“You’ve been asleep for ages…it’s not your fault?” Chloe said, opening both eyes and giving me a kiss. She was already hugging me, so she could hardly do anything else to comfort me. I kissed her back. “Mummy will come, she will have heard that on the monitor.”

“She isn’t cross with me…is she?”

“No…of course not, you helped everyone, silly?”
