Serious Or Nah

Shaking my head I say, " I wouldn't trust it, Megan and him have been dating back and forth since sophomore year. Remember the time when he cheated on her with her best friend Coco and they broke up. Then she started dating Ben."

" Stan got extremely jealous and told Ben to stay away from her. And a weak later they were back together even though Megan new exactly what he did." I finish explaining.

"Would you stop? It's not like we're in a series relationship." Kelly says looking out the window.

"And I really like him. Ever since I started working at the same hardware store he works at I've seen a different side of him. He's not like how he is at school, okay." Kelly says with a pout.

"He is sweet and funny. We go hiking and he watches documentaries with me. You know the ones you hate to watch with me."

Pleading with her eyes she begs me to understand.

Sighing in defeat I drop it but not before sarcastically muttering, "And you say it's not serious. Sure doesn't sound "not" serious."

"It's not. You and I just have different opinions on the seriousness of a relationship. I haven't posted one photo of us as a couple on any of my media accounts, but you wouldn't know that since you don't have an account."

"Besides, he hasn't been to my place." Kelly said rolling her eyes as she parks into a parking spot. Finding one pretty close to the entrance of the mall.

I completely stop talking about the fling she's having with Stan.

I now know she definitely is not serious about Stan. Especially since he hasn't met her family. Although if she told Zara, Kelley's older sister about him then she is probably thinking about turning whatever they got going on into a relationship.

"Does Zara know about what you've been up to?" I ask as I get out of the skimmer.

"No! Of course not. I like my head attached to my body thank you very much." Kelly said.

I laugh as she is the one now looking at me like I've grown a second head.

"Okay." I say holding my hand up in surrender. No longer needing to worry about this anymore.

.....

Walking out of the mall with my hands full of bags. I look forward to spending the rest of the day with Kelly.

As soon as we put our bags away I receive a message from my aunt Amanda.

Fav Aunti: Going Out to the sea today do you want to come?

I love going out to sea but depending on all whose going I might not go today.

Me: Who is going to be there?

Fav Aunti: Henry and me with Chloe and Greg. Along with Kiera and Tim with their kids.

I sigh in relief then text back.

Me: OK I want to come. Where is the meeting point at?

While waiting for aunt Amanda to reply I look up to see if Kelly is back yet. Thankfully she had to go the bathroom so I have plenty of time to come up with a story.

I would invite Kelly along but none of my friends know that I am a Gold.

At first I lied about my identity to them because I wanted my friends to be friends with me because they like me for me and not because I'm a Gold.

Or worse to use me to get close to me for one of my cousins or other relatives.

Once I knew that they were friends with me to be genuine friends I had been lying for so long that it became the truth.

At least that's how I explained it to myself.

Another reason is because I was afraid I couldn't protect them from my family. Especially Mike, he hates me because of what my mother did.

Running off and causing a scandal wasn't the problem, the problem is that she gave birth to me.

The way he and some of my other family members sees it, is that my existence is an embarrassment as bastard non-supe.

As the most powerful in our age group in the family, Mike is kind of like our unofficial leader. Sabrina and Jeremy follow him around like little puppies and do whatever he wants them to.

The rest of my cousins around my age only listen to him when they absolutely have to. Besides then they just try not to piss him off.

Mike is definitely the type to do something to my friends just to get to me. And I wouldn't put it pass Sabrina to do something similar as well.

Fav Aunti: Were gathering at Tim and Kiera's. Flying to Talido as soon as everyone is here.

I send an okay as a response just as Kelly gets back into the skimmer.

"Kels, can you drop me off at my aunt Kiera's? " I ask.

Pulling out of the parking spot she replies, "Yeah and by the way whatever skin products your using is doing wonders for you."

"Thanks. Your tan looks good too." I say with a small smile on my face.

Ten minutes later we pull up to a large white colonial with black shutters and red door.

"Thank you Kelly. I'll call you later."

Waving at me she says, "See you later." The butterfly door automatically closes on its on as she drifts back out of the driveway.

Walking around the front to the side, I turn the handle of the side door and step inside.

The first thing I see is a small foyer with a round black table with roses in a white vase on the center of the table. A little nook in the corner has two cream chairs on the sides of a little brown triangle tables.

I walk to the left down the hall towards the room where I hear voices coming from. I stop in front of a set of open white french doors to a view of an open and spacious living room.

Walls white at the very top fading into gray at the bottom. A nice white cozy sectional couch sits in the middle on top of a sandy brown rug.

Tan and white chairs and armchairs are situated in intervals throughout the living room. A long grey coffee table sits in front of the sectional and along the back wall sits a light brown couch with two grey tables on either side.
