3 Can't Go Home, Yet

When Ken came to see Tony, he was immediately treated to a table full of delicious food, expensive food that he couldn't afford for a year because of his meager salary.

Ken immediately ate with gusto without being commanded by Tony again. Tony himself could only understand how his young master ate all the food he ordered.

Tony couldn't understand his young master, because Ken had a lot of wealth and a multi-national company based in Hong Kong but, a year ago, Ken suddenly left all of that and with only a small amount of money, Ken left Hong Kong.

Ken never even touched his personal accounts and never contacted or asked for help from the Diamond Group's branch companies in almost every country.

Eventually, it was Tony who was assigned by Maggie Chow, Ken's mother, to look for Ken.

Tony even created a team and searched in almost every country in the world. His team spread out everywhere, until one day, Tony remembered something.

Tony remembered, that Maggie Chow, Ken's mother, was from Indonesia and had the maiden name Maggie Kusuma Chow, therefore, Ken could have gone to his mother's hometown especially, Kevin was very fluent in Indonesian because, since childhood Maggie Chow was taught to speak Indonesian, in addition to Mandarin and English which are commonly used in Hong Kong.

Tony was very happy when he found Ken. However, Tony didn't greet Ken right away, he chose to investigate first, Ken's boarding house, job, friends and where Ken used to go, for a year. Once he had all that, he approached Ken as he did this morning.

"Ken, come home with me. Your mother asked you to return to Hong Kong immediately. Enough of your troubles this year. Come home..." Tony said trying to persuade Ken.

"Who said I'm struggling? I'm not difficult."

"But, you only work as..."

"Being a cleaning service is also a career. If I wanted to, I could have applied for a job with my Cum Laude diploma from Harvard, I could have immediately gotten a good job without relying on my family's company, but no, I deliberately didn't do that, I deliberately looked for a menial job. I purposely struggled from the bottom like everyone else."

"What was all that for, Ken? Why are you torturing yourself like that?"

"I'd rather be tortured at the beginning than tortured at the end. Just look at what happened to me, the two girls I loved, both of whom were only after my status, only after my fortune. One cheated me out of hundreds of millions of dollars, one made me sell some of my small companies that I was trying to start outside of the Diamond Group, to get out of the Diamond Group's influence. Those two cases made me think that I was never loved, I was favored because of my status and wealth. Therefore, I tried to be an ordinary person, I tried to make a woman love me for who I am, not for what I have."

"But there's no need to take such drastic measures, right? You did experience two love failures, the solution is to find another one instead of disappearing like this?" protested Tony.

"I deliberately stayed away from my family, because of what, heh! Because that first girl of mine, I knew from an arranged marriage, and as a result, she cheated me out of hundreds of millions of dollars. That's the reason why I stayed away from my family, because my family still hasn't gotten over it, they want to set me up with another woman, huh!" Ken said grumpily.

"Then, why stay away from the Diamond Group? If you were really disappointed in your family and stayed away because you didn't want to be set up again, you could have stayed in another country and led the Diamond Group's branch company there. It could be a branch of Diamond Group in this country. Right?"

"Remember that second lover who cheated on me, right? I know him because he was my secretary in my office and look what happened, he used my trust to take over all the companies I built outside the Diamond Group, that's what made me stay away from the Diamond Group during my escape." Ken took a swig of the advocate's drink in front of him to chase away his sadness.

"So, what are you looking for in this country?" asked Tony.

"I'm looking for my soul mate. A woman who accepts me for who I am, a woman who loves me without my status as the heir to a multi-national company called Diamond Group. I'm looking for a woman who loves me for who I am, who accepts me for who I am, because a woman who accepts me for who I am, I'm sure, will never let me down," said Ken.

"Have you succeeded?" asked Tony.

"I'm eyeing someone. So far, I haven't asked her out on purpose, because I want her to see who I am first, then I'll start approaching her and I plan to start approaching her tonight."

Suddenly Tony took out a cell phone from underneath which he immediately put on the table, then he said, "This is your mom. She wants to talk."

Ken thought for a minute, then he took the phone from Tony's hand and said, "What's wrong Mom?"

"Heh! Here's what you have to say to your mom who you've been living with for a year with no news at all, heh!!!" Maggie Chow said from the other end of the line.

"I'm sorry, Mom. How are you, Mom?"

"Nah. I see. Mommy is fine. Only your Daddy is a little sick. How are you?"

"I'm fine, mom."

"Why don't you ever touch your money? It's your own money."

"I have money, mom," Ken argued.

"Where's the money, huh? All this time, you've never touched your own account. So, where do you have money from, huh? Tell your mommy."

"I'm working, mom. Don't worry about me, mom."

"Working as a cleaning service, right? Like Tony said, right? Is the salary enough to feed you and all your needs? What about your health? You might starve to death, Ken."

"It's enough, mom. The proof is that I can live well."

"Duh...you can't do that anymore. One year is enough Ken. Go back to Hong Kong. Take over Diamond Group before your second uncle manages to take over Diamond Group from us."

"I can't yet, mom. I still have things to do. Anyway, mommy just calm down, as soon as my goal is achieved, I will go straight back to Hong Kong," said Kevin.

"You have to lead the Diamond Group, Ken." Maggie urged

"I know. Tony has told me and there is still time for me before the deadline set by grandfather, I promise, after my goal is achieved, I will return to Hong Kong," Ken concluded.
