A Broken Honeymoon

Jake ran after his bride who got into the wedding car and locked herself in. She had her face squeezed with her arms folded as he peered into the car trying to open the door.

"Baby, come on, don't do this today," he pleaded looking around while smiling at those passing by. "It's weird. People are going to think we are fighting."

"That's because we are," she grunted inside the car with her voice being muffled. "Don't you know how humiliating it is to have your ex at my wedding with someone who is richer than you?"

"Baby, that's a stupid analogy. There are so many men richer than me." He paused and frowned. "And besides, we both agreed to send her an invite, it was your idea, remember?"

"well, I didn't expect her to show up!"

"That's still not my fault though, remember that she was your best friend same way she was my ex."

she huffed and squared her jaw. "Whatever. I still don't get why that man here with her. He stole the entire show."

"I didn't invite him."

"But you invited her and she brought him and now our wedding is a meet and greet for that popular guy."

"Okay now you're overreacting. I'm also mad about it but I can't do anything but watch them."

"That makes you less of a man. I am so appalled by this. I can't believe that I have to be married to you."

These words made Jake annoyed cause he remembered her coming unto him and trying to seduce him countless times behind her best friend's back. With a huff, he tried opening the car which was locked from the inside.

"Come on babe, open up. Let's not do this today," he sighed as the guard standing close by walked to him.

"Is anything the matter sir?" the guard asked in concern as Jake turned to him in anger.

"Does it look like something is wrong?" he gritted his teeth in anger. "Go back to your post and leave me to be."

The guard nodded before going back to his position.

Jake knew this would not end well so he went back to the wedding to see his ex and her date were no longer at the table.

"Hey everyone!" he announced getting everyone's attention. "So I'm glad you all could come around but it's my wedding and you all are focused on someone else which is making me very jealous."

He laughed nervously with everyone smiling awkwardly at him. They turned in his direction and started congratulating him once more as they ushered him to his car.

The driver opened the car as he entered and closed the door shut with rice being poured on the car.

"Drive us home," he sighed with the driver nodding and taking them away from the wedding amidst congratulatory messages.

Taking in deep breaths, he tried to control his anger and how he was feeling. In his own wedding he had been embarrassed beyond measures.

Turning to look at his wife, he could see she was more pissed than happy, however, this was more than her.

He did not want to tell her the main truth of why he had married her.

His main reason for getting married to her was to claim his inheritance which could not be claimed until he was married.

However, he had not taken into factor that if the main man which was Alastor showed up then it would not be possible to claim it anymore.

Now he had a wife he had married just for money and he wasn't even getting the money at the end of the day.

He hated his ex girlfriend and her date for ruining his plans. Now he was left with nothing.

He looked at his pregnant wife and tried to console himself with the fact that at least she was not barren like Janet. If anything he had also married her because she was pregnant.

With a silent vow he vowed to get his revenge on the both of them. They were going to pay for what they had done to him. He would get them back.

Throughout the honeymoon phase he had with his bride it did not turn out as great as he had wanted. She avoided him at every turn and whenever they left their hotel room to go to the pool to sit in, she would stay away from him.

It got so bad he started to hear rumors that she was not interested in him and he was getting tired of it.

The second day after finding it embarrassing that she would not hold his hand in public, he decided to put an end to it.

"What is your problem?" he asked when they entered the hotel room as he dropped his things on the floor. "I get it okay. I made a mistake by not knowing he would show up. But it's not like I'm psychic."

"I was mad at you because you didn't say anything to him there but sat on the table looking like a fool. You did not even get the paparazzi to focus on us. Instead they were focusing on them."

"How could I say anything to him? He's the reason my inheritance is in pause and I can't…"

She slowly turned to look at him when he said that.

"Sorry, what did you just say?" she asked not believing her ears.

"I said he was the reason my inheritance is paused and I…"

"What the hell do you mean that your inheritance is paused?"

"I mean, the inheritance is to be given to the heir of the company and Alastor has like eighty percent with me having twenty due to that being my grandfather's deal."

"Why would your old man make such a stupid deal?!"

Randa who was severely mad that she was just knowing this paced around the room with her hands on her waist wondering how she had not figured this out sooner.

She had married Jake because of the inheritance he would get from his company and now she was hearing this she knew she had been led into a lie.

"Why are you so upset?" he asked with a chuckle. "I'm the one who should be upset and not you. It's my inheritance and not yours."

"Yeah, I can see that, but why would you not tell me that you were not going to get any inheritance if he showed up."

"Alright, I'm confused on why you're angry with me. Are you angry because Alastor took up our wedding or you're angry for the…"

She walked away in anger not wanting to hear anymore of it.
