Janet's long term boyfriend dumped her for someone else because she was apparently impotent, rendering Janet heartbroken even more because his wedding was taking place the very next day. Hurt, Janet visited a club, got drunk, only to wake up naked, next to a hot, dark stranger the next morning.

He figured Janet was another dumb, brainless human and couldn’t wait to be rid of her, but that was until he realized that she was the key he had been searching for, for centuries.
Hence why he couldn’t ever, ever let her go. Since the moment she asked him to get married to her, she had unknowingly given herself to him, because she had no idea that once you make a deal with a devil, there’s no backing out from it.

She entered the car and ran around it in excitement before getting out of it and composing herself.

"I hope this is not a bribe," she said to the man who rolled his eyes.

"So… do we have a deal? I need to know," Alastor said without a smile.

"You said I was also getting paid?"

"But you're paying me for what?" she said looking back at the car. "Seriously you're giving me that? I find that hard to believe."

"Look, I don't have time for this. You already agreed and I've already promised to send you the money as agreed. Now are we still going to keep bantering over this or shall we start the process?"

"Oh, yeah. Let's start the process," she smiled just as he started for the house.

Alastor knew that whatever they would find about the box would be life changing and he was ready for it.
