Daisy Wood didn't make a sound, and Lucy Wood didn't say a word on the side either.

Once they arrived inside the ward at the hospital, they saw Carol Sean lying there, looking at the ceiling with blank eyes, silent.

Seeing Carol Sean, Daniel Wood's eyes still brimmed with hot tears, "Mom!"

His voice was filled with guilt, as if he were the perfect filial son.

Carol Sean, hearing Daniel Wood's voice, did show some reaction, turning her head and upon seeing Daniel, could not stop her tears from falling, "Son, you've come!"

She was only confused at times; most of the time, she was quite lucid.

She recognized people.

It's just that after a period of not seeing her, gone was her usual vigorous appearance, visibly haggard.

Lucy Wood stood aside, not speaking either, and Daisy hesitated before looking towards Lucy, only to hear Lucy whisper softly, "And mom?"
