609 Acting Unreasonably

Amanda Jenkins waited alone outside the Intensive Care Unit for a long time.

Her worried eyes, through the thick glass, were fixed on Lucas Griffin, daring not to blink.

Although he had regained some consciousness, the thought of the previous thirty-plus hours of waiting, and the doctor's words that if he hadn't awakened within forty-eight hours, he might never wake up, filled Amanda's heart with dread.

Lucas finally opened his eyes.

He slowly turned his head to look at her.

Amanda held her breath.

His deep eyes, now shrouded in a misty haze, lacked their usual sharpness but were extremely tender.

Amanda's nose tingled, and tears inevitably welled up in her eyes.

Thank Heaven, she was still fortunate to be gazed at with such deep affection.

Seeing the tears brimming in Amanda's eyes, Lucas frowned slightly and then spoke a few words to the doctor.
