In the VIP hospital room.
Kent sat by the hospital bed, holding a book of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen.
"Dad, let me tell you a story to distract you, so it won't hurt as much," Kent said cheerfully as he looked at Lucas Griffin. "When I couldn't sleep at night or was sick in bed, Amanda Jenkins used to tell me stories. It really helped me."
"Alright," Lucas Griffin said with a gentle smile.
"Ahem..." Kent cleared his throat seriously, about to start reading the fairy tale, when Amanda Jenkins laughed, "Do you know how to read?"
Kent's hand holding the book paused, and he humphed proudly, "Of course I do."
Lucas Griffin chimed in, "Amanda Jenkins, you can't disparage my son, my son is very smart."
During the conversation, he affectionately looked at Kent, "Kent, go ahead and tell Daddy the story."
Kent squinted his eyes with a smile and began to recite the story earnestly, word by word.
