Chapter Nine
At the corner, a car sped towards her, but Sofia Hamilton was unaware.
The driver made a sharp turn and suddenly saw someone ahead, frantically stomped on the brake, and turned the steering wheel nonstop, but it was still too late!
The tires screeched against the pavement, and Sofia was startled into a freeze on the spot.
She had no time to dodge, nor the strength to stand up.
Closing her eyes and instinctively turning her head, it was at that moment someone suddenly grabbed her and swiftly pulled her aside.
The car crashed into the roadside barrier with a bang, but Sofia was unharmed.
However...
Her vision darkened in an instant, and her whole body went limp; Arthur Baker felt a tightness in his chest and hurriedly reached out to steady her falling body. Her body was so weak that it kept sagging, and Arthur had no choice but to bend down and pick her up.
The car owner rushed out in a huff, ready to settle the score with her.
