Flossie Wright furrowed her brows in thought.

Helpless inside, she wasn't skilled in making herself suffer either; after casting a glance at Glenn Hutchinson, she lay down on her side.

It was around four o'clock in the morning now.

Having slept for a few hours yesterday afternoon, Flossie was not particularly tired, but after all, her strength was waning, and the cold temperature made her senses dull; thus, no sooner had she lain down than she drifted into a deep sleep.

She didn't sleep long.

About twenty minutes later, Flossie heard some noises and was abruptly woken from her sleep.

Squinting her eyes, during the darkest time before dawn, Flossie's ears were more useful than her eyes.

There seemed to be signs of changing weather; only a few stars remained in the sky, the moon exposed half its figure, and a faint light filtered through the night sky, but within the dense foliage of the trees, the light was mostly blocked.
