"Nonsense," the Duchess laughed and gave her a playful look. "You're flattering me again."
"No, I'm not, it's true," Ivana Bennett took her hand. "COCO, you really don't look old at all, my mom even said you take better care of yourself than she does, and she's envious of your beautiful skin..."
The Duchess shook her head with a smile. "Not at all, your mother is the one who's truly young and vibrant."
The two chatted on the ground floor.
Upstairs, Lucas Walker had already taken Adam Walker to the large terrace on the third floor.
"Over there is the stable, and there used to be a Pet Room here, but it was torn down..."
"Lucas!" Adam stood to the side, looking at the slightly taller and handsomely striking man before him. "I'm sorry... for all these years."
Lucas slid his hand into his pocket. "You don't need to apologize to me. If you really feel sorry, go make it up to COCO!"
His lack of objection about Adam staying did not mean he accepted this father.
