Day two.
When the duchess woke up, the curtains in the room were still tightly closed, blocking any light from entering.
Behind her, the man's chest was broad and warm.
Feeling her movements, Adam Walker spoke softly.
"Are you awake?"
Turning over in his arms, the duchess stretched out her arms, embraced his neck, and leaned in to kiss his face.
"Good morning."
Adam wrapped his arms around her. "I cooked some porridge, and there are buns and steamed bun with milk. Are you hungry now? Do you want me to bring it over for you?"
The duchess lifted her face in surprise and looked at his bare chest. "When... did you make this?"
"I made it a while ago." Adam lifted the corners of his lips. "I woke up early, made breakfast, and then came back to be with you."
The duchess frowned slightly. "I... didn't feel a thing; I slept like the dead."
