Wang Er Ya huffed lightly, "Don't play me for a fool. Aren't you here waiting for Ji Xinhe?"
Gao Zhiru was taken aback and blurted out, "How did you know?"
This meeting was clearly meant to be a private arrangement with Ji Xinhe.
Wang Er Ya lifted her head slightly and said, "Something suddenly came up at Ji Xinhe's home and she couldn't make it. So I was the one sent to tell you she couldn't see you off, she wishes for you to focus on your exams."
A hint of disappointment flashed through Gao Zhiru's eyes, "What could have happened at their place?"
Wang Er Ya noticed Gao Zhiru's despondence. Anger quietly flared within her as she clung to his arm and cooed, "What? Disappointed? Not happy that I came instead? Ji Xinhe, that blockhead, even if she did come, with her slow-witted look, she surely can't beat me?"
Gao Zhiru was charmed by Wang Er Ya's soft voice, and the sight of her in makeup and a charming red flower in her hair certainly added to her appeal.
