Chapter 15: The First lecture

Ok class let's begin.

Miss Mabel spoke as the wall showed a holographic picture with her face on the top right corner.

"I guess you'll know what kengenfyo is"

The class remained quiet for a moment but was interrupted by mikami, "Um Miss Mabel, aren't we missing someone?"

"Someone?" Miss Mabel wondered as she scanned through the class and opened up a list in the holographic bored.

"Alright let's see, I'm sure I met all of you..

"Oh yes yota, I fought her" Mikami answered.

The classroom door suddenly opened and Yota stepped in but stopped as she noticed everyone was looking at her as if they saw a ghost.

Yota asked.

"Wait who are you" Mabel asked.

"She's one of us ma'am"

Mikami answered.

Yota recognize the voice and walked straight to him.

Yota said looking at mikami with disdain.

But the longer she started the more her cheeks turned red.

"Um Yota, we've you been, did the blast get you?

Ren asked

"Yeah did the blast get you" Ken asked.

"Blast?, What blast?"

Yota asked wondering what they were taking about.

"Huh?!?!"

The whole class looked surprised because of all the commotions that had happened and yota had no idea about it.

"The blast that destroyed almost half of the school..that blast….you have no idea?"

Mikami, Ren and Ken said said in sync.

"What do mean, I was in the bathroom"

Yota said.

"wait what?!"

Mikami spoke as it felt a little bit funny to him.

"SO …WHAT'S IT TO YA, IS IT WRONG FOR A GIRL TP USE THE BATHROOM?!"

Yota yelled at out embarrassment and her face turned red.

"No…I mean so much happened, it's not like that"

Mikami said trying not to get her mad.

"Alright enough" miss Mabel spoke.

"Just have your seat"

Yota sat in front of Mikami..

"Uhh, that's Kaito's"

Mikami said.

"huh?, You got a problem"

She said with fire fist formed at his face.

"Nope not at all"

Mikami said sweating a little.

Miss Mabel began the lecture.

"Kengenfyo

A pure spiritual energy that the gods gave us 1000 years ago.

The kengen was actually given to all humans on earth but no one could actually use or harness it,

So we just lived on, until the Edo period.

Matsuo Basho, Poet and Ninja, 1694.

Matsuo Basho was the most famous poet of the Edo period, and the greatest master of the form known as haiku. He entered the circles of the Edo intellectual and literary scene, and became known as a teacher of verse. Believed to have been born to a low ranked samurai near Ueno in Iga Province, he spent much of his time traveling the nation, and living as a recluse.

Matsuo Basho traveled around Japan writing his haiku poems and publishing them in compilation books such as the famed "Oku no Hosomichi". This particular trip took him from Edo, north around the Tohoku and Hokuriku regions, then the Tokai area before returning to Edo. A total of 2,400km, and was completed in 150 days. At the time Basho was 45 years old, quite an old man in those days when the average life span was around 50. He was walking an average of 50km per day.

Japan at the time was relatively closed. One could not travel freely, as there were checkpoints and post towns along all the major roadways. Matsuo Basho could travel freely. And he carried a pen and paper with him at all times, writing notes as he traveled and visited a number of important figures, including daimyo at their homes and castles along the way. The same too with his later trips on the Edo Five Routes. This would seem to be the perfect way to obtain intelligence information, would it not?.

Miss Mabel looked down and saw the entire class asleep

So when you feel lost or alone, Remember that you're not on your own, For the power within is always there, Guiding you with love and care."

Because of these notes it was believe he was the first to ever know how to harness it.

It was believe he had the kengen of Photographic Memory

Since this power would be useful for poets who want to remember every idea they come up with right before they fall asleep. It would also help them to have photographic memory of every edit during the revision

And also imprint images,

In 1670 images were found buried around the Tokai areas, where it explained to exactly how kengenfyo works

Miss Mabel swiped her right hand up on the holographic board and images of ancient writings and diagrams appeared.

Here it was deciphered that Kengenfyo is…the essence of life itself, kind of what the poem says.

Experiments were conducted to see if any one could actually use this kengen.

This time everyone was actually awake listening except for Mikami.

Yota turned her head and gave Mikami a soothing knock on the head.

"Ow?"

"Alright then, you can leave"

Miss mabel said as she closed the holographic board.

And Kaito walked in the class

"Bruh you missed the entire class"

Mikami said.

"I know, I'll just attend the next one"
