Chapter 39: Finally, A Future

Jiro POV

THREE WEEKS LATER

“Good morning, Alpha.”

If someone had told Jiro that he could hear those words regularly without looking behind him to see if the speaker addressed Dane, he would have rolled his eyes. Now, he heard it every morning and it felt as if he’d never been anything else but the Crimsontail Shadows Alpha.

“Good morning, Councilwoman Valentina.”

Councilwoman Valentina pointed to a spot beside her in the square. “Will your Luna be joining us?”

Jiro stretched and warmed up properly before Roslynn’s Movements of the Moon class. “Not this morning. She’s feeling a bit tired and I let her sleep in.”

For the past few days, she’d been sleeping later than normal, maybe due to their regular passionate lovemaking. She scoffed at slowing their sensual pace. “There will be times when the pack needs all of our focus, or when life throws storms at us. And when we have children, they come first. We should make the most of enjoying each other while we can.”
