Arken's POV
Lysha was being herself. The show off to be sweet was her weapon to be so popular. For a moment there on the street she reminded me of...Nevermind. Maybe I'd mistook her for another girl. I sighed.
She sat on a seat in the row next to mine. Lysha Evor can never be that kind to anyone let alone the kid at the bus stop. I was definitely mistaken.
She turned to look at me as her eyes widened. Well, whenever she saw me, she always used to smile. The whole school knew that Lysha liked me. She never said anything to me but word spreads like anything.
Even though if she did tell me her feelings. I don't like her I might as well say that I would never like her.
But this time she didn't smile, she just turned away. That was sooo weird. Wait why am even thinking about her of all matters?
I opened up a novel I had brought to school and got to reading.
Back to Lysha's POV
The math in this world was too easy. What Mr. Jones was teaching, in my world these sums could be solved by a sixth grader. And when the teacher called me upon to solve a sum on the board, I solved it no problem.
Everyone gaped at me as I went back to my seat. Oh right...Lysha wasn't good at math. Okay, she wasn't good at any subject.
"How did you do that?" Chase whispered.
"I started studying during the vacations. I am trying to improve my grades this year that's all," I whispered back ending it in an awkward laugh.
Half of the classes were over when the bell rang for the lunch break. I thought of a plan during the classes. Elliana was first started to be bullied by Diana in the lunch. So I had the perfect chance to befriend her.
After everyone (accept Arken) had left the class for the canteen, I was about to leave with Chase and Kylie when I saw Diana make her way towards Elliana.
That was my cue.
"Guys I forgot my canteen card, you go ahead I'll join in a sec," I said.
"Yeah, come quick alright?" Chase said.
"Yeah." I went back inside the class again and spotted Diana and her minions in front of Elliana's seat.
"So I think you've brought something good for lunch I see," I heard Diana say, "Why don't you have a share?"
"Yeah, sure, I've got plenty to share," Elliana said.
Elliana offered her lunch to share but one of Diana's minions took the entire box!
I basically stomped towards them. That was too rude! Taking someone else's lunch?
"You have no right on her lunch," I said as calmly as I could.
"Who the hell—" Diana turned to look at me as her mouth shut closed. "Lysha, but she's—"
"That's enough Diana or do you want me to tell the principal?"
She glared at Elliana before leaving the class. That glare definitely ment 'this isn't over'.
I sighed. "They've always been like that. But who am I to complain? I used to be just like them before. Sorry."
"No, you don't have to apologize. You stood up for me and no one has ever done like that for me," Elliana said.
'Obviously! You're the female lead of the story!' I thought.
"I am Lysha by the way," I said.
"Elliana."
"Why don't you join me and my friends for lunch, Ellie?"
Her eyes widened.
"Wait did I offened you in some way? Maybe the name. I won't call you that if don't like it!" I said.
"No, no," she shook her head. "That's nice of you. I just...nevermind. I'd love to join you!"
"Well then, let's go!"
"You can go to first, my mom asked me to call her urgently. I'll join in a minute."
I nodded and smiled.
I was about step out the class when I felt someone staring at me. And it was none other than the only other person in the class except Elliana. Arken Sager.
Our eyes met and like the other time my I felt like could drown into his eyes and never come out. My cheeks flushed. Not again!
I turned away and almost ran out the class. This was getting way harder than I thought.
