Finn Wilson looked at him with a teasing gaze, "Have you fallen for that girl you mentioned?"
Owen Moreland was startled, his eyes deepening.
Clutching the cigarette butt, he took a fierce drag, "I can't, she's just a child."
Yet his tone carried an almost imperceptible uncertainty.
Finn paused, "A child? Why does that word sound so familiar coming from your mouth?"
After thinking for a moment, his eyes lit up, "The girl you mentioned, is she the little lover you were protecting at the Xiao Family Banquet?"
Owen Moreland gave Finn Wilson a cold sidelong glance, his tone indifferent, "Less nonsense."
"Alright, alright, less nonsense." Finn shifted his rear, scooting closer to Owen, draped an arm over his shoulder like an experienced confidant, and said, "Let me ask you again, do you really miss her when you can't see her?"
Owen was silent.
At that moment, silence equaled acquiescence.
