Since there weren't many people, they didn't hire a cook to prepare the meal. Mother Williams cooked a big pot of noodles, and Emily Yorke helped to fry a few dishes.
Amelia Clarke had no appetite, and under Owen Moreland's gaze, she reluctantly ate less than half a bowl. Before she could even set down her chopsticks, nausea churned in her stomach, and she rushed out to the courtyard, leaning against the wall to vomit.
Owen followed her out, helping her by stroking her back. The man's palms were thick and warm, applying just the right amount of pressure on her. Soon, Emily came out with a cup of warm water, and when Amelia finished throwing up, she handed over the cup, "Rinse your mouth."
Amelia thanked her and took the cup.
