Jocelyn Griffin felt a resurgence of hope the moment she heard the news.
Originally, she had gone to great lengths to get close to Amelia Clarke simply because she wanted more opportunities to see that man, to get Amelia into Charming was for the same reason.
Even though she hadn't yet won that man's favor, as long as he wasn't married, she believed there was a chance, even if it was just one in ten thousand, she didn't want to give up.
With this thought, Jocelyn looked at Amelia Clarke and seemingly casually steered the conversation back, her smile bright and sincere, "Do you need a bridesmaid for your wedding? If you don't mind, I can be it."
Amelia lowered her eyelids, "There won't be a wedding anymore."
Jocelyn's heart pounded like thunder, feeling as though the blood in her veins was boiling, yet her expression was one of shock and surprise, "Why?"
"My mother passed away recently, Owen said we'd have the wedding after the new year."
