177: Madam Moreland seriously ill

Madam Moreland finished speaking, reined in the disappointment in her eyes, and stood up to walk toward the bedroom.

Her silhouette looked exceptionally desolate.

Owen Moreland rose to his feet, his deep gaze following her, a trace of reluctance flashing through the depth of his eyes.

The elderly lady had raised him single-handedly, never putting any pressure on him. Her only request was that she hoped to see him marry and have children within her lifetime.

Owen Moreland withdrew his gaze, took out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket, and lit a cigarette.

Emily Yorke stood up to follow Madam Moreland, presumably to comfort her. Old Master Moreland gave Owen a glare, then also got up and headed in Madam Moreland's direction, leaving Oscar Moreland's family of three and Oliver. Feeling out of place, Oliver tactfully stood up and went upstairs to the study.
