The Nori grown on the rocks appeared to be mere weeds, and the sea breeze listened as Qiao Xiaomai picked the weeds to eat, rushed to say, "Let me taste it first."
He knew that Qiao Xiaomai was looking for ideas to get rich, but tasting weeds was something he should do for her.
"No worries, I won't eat it now, let's dry it first," Qiao Xiaomai waved her hand.
For her first harvest, she collected over ten pounds of it and spread it out on bamboo baskets to dry.
Having gotten the Nori, she had ideas about kelp.
At this time, kelp was called "Kombu," and while it was a bit different from the kelp of later generations, its effects and taste were mostly the same. However, the local fishermen considered Kombu as a water weed and did not eat it. Even if they fished it out, they would throw it back into the sea.
Qiao Xiaomai asked the fishermen for some and laid it out to dry with the Nori.
