Chapter 10: Samuel Johnson Gets Beaten Up

Evan Willow took it over and handed it to Amanda Smith, "Remember to apply this, or it'll swell even more tomorrow."

Amanda Smith smiled gratefully, "I know."

The man cast his eyes downward gently looking at her and softly said, "Goodnight."

"Mm, goodnight!"

The door was gently closed, and the man slowly exhaled, the tender expression on his face becoming somewhat sharp.

He was still bothered by Amanda Smith's injury.

The woman he cherished and wouldn't dare to harm was casually beaten and scolded by another, how could he just accept it?

It's just a pity... the flower is willing, but the stream is heartless.

He sighed silently.

The next morning, Amanda Smith took a taxi from the Willow family's villa back to the Johnson family, and before she even entered the door, she heard a chaotic noise of pandemonium.

Mrs. Johnson's cries and Mr. Johnson's scolding tightened Amanda Smith's heart, and she hurried to the hall.

"Amanda, you're back!" Mrs. Johnson saw her savior had arrived, ran over with tears, grabbing Amanda Smith's hand, "Quick, save Samuel! He's about to be beaten to death by Dad!"

Amanda Smith's eyes narrowed slightly, and she rushed into the hall.

In the center of the hall, Samuel Johnson knelt on the ground, and Mr. Johnson, at that moment, was furiously smashing his cane onto his back, blow after blow, causing Amanda Smith's heart to race in terror!

What had happened?

She was gone for just one night, how had Samuel gotten into trouble again?

"Grandfather!" Amanda Smith called out and quickly approached, "Stop hitting! What happened?"

"Amanda, you're finally back!"

When Mr. Johnson saw Amanda Smith, he threw the cane aside and pulled her to one side, reaching out to lift her hair to see her face, "I just got a message saying that Samuel that brat has been rough with you again! That damn kid, he's really becoming intolerable!"

It turned out to be about yesterday's incident at the hospital...

Amanda Smith couldn't help but turn her head to look at Samuel Johnson, who had already stood up by now. Wearing a thin shirt, he was looking at her expressionlessly, his dark eyes filled with nothing but anger towards her and the rest was mockery, as if to mock her coldly, right, you tattled again!

Amanda Smith, shocked, couldn't help but look away. How could she possibly have tattled? But even if she explained, Samuel wouldn't believe her.

And her appearance, in the eyes of Samuel, was a sign of guilt!

Dammit, he took a beating because of this bitch again. He really underestimated her! He thought she had some decency, after causing such a fuss that might agitate a heart patient, and still had the audacity to tell on him!

How could this woman be so malicious! Angrily thinking to himself, he coldly stared at Amanda Smith for a while before he snorted and turned to head upstairs.

Mrs. Johnson, wiping her tears, followed him.

She had little status in this family. Samuel Johnson was the sole heir of the Johnson family for the past eight generations. She and her husband had tried for decades and had not had another child; she blamed herself for this, and always felt deeply apologetic to Mr. Johnson. Whenever Mr. Johnson and Samuel had a disagreement, she naturally didn't dare to provoke Mr. Johnson and always sought Amanda Smith for help.
