Chapter 581: Bitterness

Soon, the call got through. However, it rang for a full minute without anyone answering.

Without giving it too much thought, he dialed again.

This time, after about half a minute of ringing, the call was abruptly hung up. Moments later, he received a text message:

"Sorry, I can't answer the phone right now. Whatever it is, we can talk about it face-to-face when you arrive."

What does she mean by that?

Unavailable to answer the phone? How could that be, considering how long her phone had been ringing!

Could it be that she's genuinely upset?

That doesn't make sense either. If she were really upset, why would she say "we can talk about it face-to-face when you arrive"?

If she's not upset, why wouldn't she answer his call and give him a chance to "explain"?

He stared at the text message, parsing and pondering each word, trying to understand her feelings.

However, no matter how much he racked his brain, he couldn't figure out what she actually meant or if she was really angry.
