The mummy abruptly ceased its pained expression, slapped its barren arm against its cranium, and started laughing uproariously.

Su Ran could discern from the laughter the vicissitudes and desolation of the ages, but more than that, there was an undertone of unwillingness to accept defeat.

After venting, the mummy's tone lightened considerably, and it continued, "Now, I want to grant you an opportunity, I wonder if you want it or not?"

Su Ran didn't dare to hastily make commitments, not knowing whether this fellow had dug him a pitfall. It was better that way; he would still have a leeway to retreat.
