The 007 system mall is a black shop

A director of Zhou Shuwen's stature naturally wouldn't linger. He proactively greeted Wang Ying before departing. This startled Liu Banxia. It seems I've really underestimated Sister Wang's overall capabilities.

"Doctor Liu, you're truly amazing! You even diagnosed cancer! Could you take a look at me too?" Qiaoqiao, who had arrived with Wang Xiaoyan, said with a bright smile.

Liu Banxia rolled his eyes. "Do you think I'm an MRI machine or a CT scanner? I don't know about other things, but you really should cut back on the nail art."

"Those things contain many chemicals. Over time, some might penetrate your nails. If that truly causes an issue, it won't be as simple as this little cut on your finger."

Qiaoqiao was taken aback; she had never thought about that. Now, her concern over this surpassed the worry for the cut on her finger.

"So, when will you treat my finger?" Qiaoqiao asked piteously.

"We'll take care of it right now. You're the other great beauty introduced by the lovely Yanzi, so it's on the house today," Liu Banxia joked.

Actually, it wouldn't have cost much anyway, and he could have paid for it himself, especially since they had helped him so much. However, his words delighted Wang Xiaoyan and Qiaoqiao. It wasn't just the praise; it made them look good too.

They proceeded to Treatment Room Two, where Liu Banxia skillfully treated the minor wound.

However, watching the two girls leave, chatting and laughing, Liu Banxia felt a twinge of regret. He hadn't gained any proficiency for his Bandaging Skill, nor any experience points. My Bandaging Skill level is probably too high now.

"Sister Wang, Shi Lei, you guys made me so tense earlier. I'm going to sneak off to the cafeteria. It's my treat for lunch, remember!" Liu Banxia said.

Zhou Li nodded with a smile. "Shoutian is quite thoughtful. No need to buy anything expensive; a simple meal will do."

"Hmm... In that case, I don't need to rush to the cafeteria then," Shi Lei said quite seriously.

Liu Banxia rolled his eyes. "You always pick on me. Just you wait!"

"Sister Li, I've always been curious, why do you call Doctor Liu 'Shoutian'?" Xu Dan asked, watching Liu Banxia's retreating figure.

"Him? It's because the traditional Chinese medicine Banxia is also called Shoutian in some regions, so we got used to calling him that," Shi Lei, in a rare good mood, took the initiative to explain.

"Shi Lei, can't you think of something for this kid? I'll really be reluctant to see him go," Zhou Li said.

Shi Lei gave a wry smile. "How could I not be thinking about it? Although he can be a bit impulsive, he's a very serious learner. But we have to wait for an opportunity."

This was indeed a thorny issue. Liu Banxia's educational qualification was too low—only a bachelor's degree. To get into the Second Hospital, a master's degree was the minimum requirement.

Liu Banxia didn't head straight to the cafeteria but slipped into the locker room instead. The system had given a notification earlier about a Gemstone System, and he absolutely had to check it out.

After summoning the system interface, he froze. A new socket had appeared on his character figure's forehead, one on each hand, and three on its spine. These must be the slots for embedding gemstones.

He joyfully turned his attention to the store. The system is so awesome; the items sold in the store must be absolutely amazing!

One look and he was dumbfounded. The items for sale in the store were indeed good stuff: an Elixir of Wisdom increasing Intellect by 5 points, an Elixir of Grace increasing Agility by 5 points, an Elixir of Strength increasing Strength by 5 points, and an Elixir of Restoration that instantly restored Stamina.

The catch? These elixirs only lasted for ten minutes and were outrageously expensive at 10 Glory Points per bottle. And how many Glory Points did he currently have? A mere 50.

Further down, he saw blue, red, yellow, and green gemstones, corresponding to Intellect, Agility, Strength, and Stamina, respectively. They also boosted their respective stats by five points. However, their prices were even more outrageous: 40 Glory Points for a single gemstone.

No need to even think about it; this is a total rip-off! It couldn't be more of a rip-off.

Although he had mentally branded the system a rip-off joint, his eyes kept straying to the gemstones.

The increase in his Agility attribute today had already brought tangible changes. So, a higher price was somewhat understandable. Besides, unlike elixirs, these stones should provide a permanent attribute increase once embedded.

After a moment's thought, he gritted his teeth. He had to buy one. I only get one free attribute point per level, and I still have four attributes to raise. Relying solely on leveling up is clearly not going to cut it.

But which attribute should he choose? He was stumped again. This thing costs 40 Glory Points! That's the equivalent of leveling up eight times just from Glory Points earned through leveling!

Suddenly, a thought struck him: I still have three attribute points, why not try adding one? Why am I so dense?

With this in mind, he allocated 1 point to Intellect.

DING! Gained 1 Intellect point. Current Intellect: 57. Comprehension, Memory, and Concentration +1.78%.

Liu Banxia's eyebrows shot up. He cautiously glanced around; seeing no one, he couldn't help but cover his mouth and snicker.

No need to think anymore, this is it! The system really is supportive!

This Intellect attribute was like a brain booster. As a medical student, he knew all too well the struggles of studying; the memories were practically seared into his mind. An increase in comprehension and memory—how could that not be immensely beneficial for his medical career?

He decisively purchased a blue gemstone. However, his initial elation quickly gave way to hesitation.

Unlike attribute points, which are added and that's that, gemstones, once embedded, presumably stay. But will this gemstone just 'THWACK' right into my head? Would that make me a monster?

After agonizing for a good ten minutes, Liu Banxia steeled himself, gritted his teeth, and decided to go for it. Selecting 'Embed,' he closed his eyes tightly.

DING! Blue gemstone embedded successfully. Gained 5 Intellect points. Current Intellect: 62. Comprehension, Memory, and Concentration +10.71%.

Liu Banxia shook his head and looked in the mirror. My head doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. Phew, it must be some kind of virtual embedding.

Besides, the blue gemstone on the forehead of his character's avatar looked quite cool. It does look a bit like Erlang God's, but I'm not going to be picky.

Looking at the remaining gemstones in the system, all he could do was covet them.

He also noticed many slots in the system store marked "Not Unlocked." Probably because my level isn't high enough.

He pulled up his attribute panel.

Liu Banxia: Level 10 (8,375/8,800)

Intellect: 62 (Comprehension, Memory, Concentration +10.71%)

Agility: 60 (Stability, Speed, Tactile Sense +11.11%)

Strength: 43

Stamina: 39

Attribute Points: 2

Glory Points: 10

Bandaging Skill: Level 2 (5,167/19,999)

Suturing Skill: Level 2 (5,244/19,999)

Diagnostic Skill: Level 1 (1,586/4,999)

Just as with the previous Agility increase, he couldn't perceive any obvious change without a direct comparison. But he wasn't worried; memory was something easily tested.

Composing himself, he finally charged towards the cafeteria. He had made a promise to the others, and they absolutely had to have a good meal today.
