"James" Stretching out his arm, Leonardo received a bottle of water from his butler and took a big gulp, then asked "What's going on with Uncle Jack?"

"He's already in Silicon Valley and informed me a couple of hours ago that he was getting in touch with friends Jerry and David. It is worth noting that he continues to insist that it is a bad idea to invest in the internet industry, as it is very fickle and you never know when it will explode"

"It's okay, I know the risks" Waving his hand dismissively, Leonardo responded.

Jack Jones, the family's personal attorney who used to work with his parents. He was the one who saw to it that the funds Leonardo inherited were not misappropriated and who to this day continues to get him out of all the legal trouble he used to get into.

You don't have to be very smart to know that the old man doesn't like him very much, and no doubt he has several reasons for that. But just because their personal relationships are strained doesn't mean he can meddle with where Leonardo wants to invest or not, after all he's of legal age to manage his money.

"Mr. Jack only cares about you, after all he was a good friend of his father's and the last thing he would want to see is his friend's son in financial trouble."

"*Sigh* I know, but I can't twist my arm" Shaking his head, Leonardo leaned back on the comfortable lawn and continued "Uncle Jack already has a view of me that is unlikely to change no matter how hard I try, something I don't blame him for in the least, after all I know my old behaviors. But this investment I asked him to manage is something that really struck a chord with me, and if all goes well, I can finally say I got my life back on track."

"I understand" With a proud smile, James was silent for a few seconds and asked "When are we making the trip to Silicon Valley? The plane ride will be about an hour there."

"First I have to see if there is the possibility of investment, if they refuse, I won't go and waste my time with them" Looking with a relaxed smile at the blue sky above him, Leonardo continued "But if everything goes well, we will travel tomorrow itself and we would stay in a hotel... I won't force you to come if you don't want to, it's not like I can't support myself"

"How could I abandon you?" Instantly shaking his head, James continued "My job is to look after him wherever he goes."

"As you wish" Shrugging his shoulders, Leonardo thought 'I just wish I was on time...'

Jerry Yang and David Filos.

How could you not know those two names?

Creators and founders of Yahoo!, the search engine that for a few years, had its crown and generated huge revenues.

According to the story, these two college friends should have founded a year ago a page called "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web", and it is supposed that around this year, they would receive their first investment that would bring their search engine to fame.

A company that right now costs no more than a few hundred thousand dollars, in a matter of a couple of years, will cost in excess of 100 billion dollars.

But although that amount of money would be enough to live the rest of his life in luxury, as reincarnated with future information, it is impossible to be tempted with such a low sum.

Facebook, Google, Youtube, Netflix, Steam, Whatsapp, Telegram, Instagram and more.

There is literally an infinity of companies that in the future will be a money mine that anyone with the slightest brain, would invest in if they knew the future.

Sure, there is the possibility that their intervention will cause some butterfly effect and that some page will ultimately not be successful, but....

Would it really matter?

Even if only 2 out of 10 investments are successful, that would already be an astronomical amount of money, while the losses would literally be comical compared to the possible gains.

Besides, it's not like Leonardo knows much about technology.

No, hopefully he can even turn on a modern computer, let alone program something from scratch.

But who needs him?

His only job is to find the brilliant minds who will create those great sites and invest in them, then take a piece of the business and that's it.

Run every business?

Try to take over the companies?

Be the most influential CEO in the world?

Why the fuck would I want to do that?

There is nothing better than just getting money from the efforts of others, that has always been the essence of investing and I would be a fool not to take advantage of it.

"Young master, your yoga classes are about to begin."

"Tsk."

****

"Tsk" Looking at the plethora of vehicles outside the airport, Leonardo clicks his tongue and stretches his stiff body, then turns his gaze to his butler and looks at the small suitcase he carries "Are you sure you can carry it? It's not like my hands are useless."

"Don't worry young master, this is nothing" Shaking his head, James smiled kindly and looked sideways "The cab should be waiting for us.

We'll go straight to your lawyer and he will stay with you while I go to the hotel with your suitcase"

"Right."

A day passed since the family's lawyer contacted Jerry and David, and while they didn't instantly agree to accept the investment, they did agree to meet the investor at a café to discuss the details.

Without thinking twice, Leonardo and James boarded a plane from Los Angeles to Silicon Valley and in a matter of 2 hours in total, they were at their destination.

After a few minutes of searching for the cab, the duo got in and about half an hour later, Leonardo finally arrived at his destination.

Although in his mind he had mentally prepared himself for the situation, and although in his other life he had lived through several situations that made him mature as a person, today he can't help but feel a little nervous just because of the magnitude of the contract they might sign today.

Billions of dollars!

How can you not feel nervous?

He would never have earned that amount in his old life, not even if he worked as a slave from Monday to Monday and 24 hours a day.

Inhaling deeply, Leonardo turned to James and nodded "See you at the hotel."

"Good luck."

"Thanks" Stepping out of the vehicle, Leonardo swallowed hard and stared at the plain coffee in front of him, then looked down at his slightly expensive street clothes.

Coming in casual clothes to a possible purchase of one of the most profitable investments in the world?

Of course he would.

What can you do to him?

The old Leonardo didn't even have a tailored suit, and the last one he used to wear was one his mother bought when he was about 9 years old.

Making a custom one takes time, something he unfortunately doesn't have.

"*Sigh* You made it."

Hearing the tired sigh and hoarse voice beside him, Leonardo turned his gaze and looked at the plump old man beside him.

Nearly bald head, fat limbs and face, a big belly but wearing a luxurious suit.

Jack Jones is literally the definition of an average lawyer in Leonardo's mind, even more so when you consider his scowl and serious face.

"Uncle Jack, it's a pleasure to see you" Smiling towards the man, Leonardo shook hands with his lawyer and continued "I hope you had a pleasant stay."

"..." Opening his eyes a little wider, Jack stared at the young man in front of him and scanned him up and down, then smiled quizzically and commented "When Jaison told me about your change I thought the old man had finally gone senile... who knew you would one day grow up, I never saw it coming."

"We all have to grow up at some point" Smiling wryly, Leonardo continued "My parents are no longer in this world and it's time for me to start fending for myself and become an adult."

"You don't know how proud your father would be to hear those words" Patting Leonardo's back with a smile, Jack turned his gaze to the coffee and sighed "But you really should listen to me, I can't see any good in this duo you want to invest in."

"If everyone saw how good they are, I wouldn't be able to invest in them" Chuckling, Leonardo continued "How about the possibility of investment?"

"When I visited their little office they looked doubtful. Apparently one person already went to give them a small investment and for some reason they turned it down, that's why they asked to discuss the details first."

"Do you think it would be hard to get a good chunk out?"

"I wouldn't know" Shaking his head, Jack continued "I studied the reports they gave me and their profits are nil. They literally don't have a dime of profit and when I asked them how they would make money, even they didn't know how. In my view, they are no different than two dumb kids with pipe dreams."

"Do you think they are naïve?"

"Their eyes don't show much wisdom to speak of."

"Well, let's go" Walking to the café, Leonardo opened the door and stared at the unforgettable duo sitting together at a table in front of the window.

While they no longer wore expensive clothes or had that air of important people around them, it was almost impossible for Leonardo to forget their faces after having to spend weeks learning about the lives of these students.

Smiling amicably, Leonardo approached the duo and greeted "Sorry I'm late, the flight was a bit delayed."

"N-no worries, I'm on time" Opening his eyes a little wider as he noticed how young the prospective investor is, Jerry Yang stood up and accepted his handshake while stuttering with visible nervousness.

Jerry yang is a young man who right now must be around 25 to 30 years old, with black hair, slightly tanned skin and obvious Asian features.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Jack told us a lot about you" Rising with a more professional smile, David Filo shook his hand and commented.

David Filo is a man who looks to be around the same age as Jerry, having orange hair while his pale skin blends perfectly with his blue eyes.

Sure, despite having orange hair and light eyes, the man is quite far from attractive in Leonardo's eyes, but he certainly appears to be more professional than Jerry.

"I hope he only talked to you about good things."

"I just heard about the great vision you have in investments."

"You're astute" Laughing, Leonardo sat across from them and looked at the coffee menu, then ordered a simple espresso and settled into the chair.

"..."

"..."

"..."

After a few seconds of silence and noticing how the people in front of him become more nervous, Leonardo smiled in his mind and stared at the men's eyes, then nodded and commented "First of all I will introduce myself, I am Leonardo Di Rossi and today I come to see the feasibility of investing in the website that you two created. I personally took a flight to come see you as soon as I heard you were available, so I'm quite anxious to see how far we can get."

Looking at each other and his friend, David nodded and looked at Leonardo seriously "We already gave the details of the company to your lawyer, what do you think about our business plan?"
