Unnatural Discovery

The room is dark, and we can barely see Harith sleeping in his bed. Suddenly, Harith seems to be having a nightmare, his body starting to shiver. The scene changes, and we are inside Harith's dream. It is about a war, soldiers fighting to their last breath, and Harith is in the middle of the battlefield.

Harith just stands there, too scared to move. Unawares, he gets hit by an enemy soldier.

"Take this, you demon!"

"Hugh!"

The enemy soldier is about to kill him, approaching Harith with deadly intent. Harith, still confused about everything, can't react. Just before the soldier strikes, he is stabbed from behind.

The soldier falls to the ground, revealing a red-haired girl holding a fire sword. She speaks urgently to Harith.

"Sergeant, you okay? Can you still get up?"

"Wha-what?"

Before he can understand what she is saying, the sky starts looking unusual. A multitude of shooting stars come hurtling toward their position.

"Sergeant, get down!"

Before they can hit, Harith wakes up, breathing heavily as though he has just had a hard time catching his breath.

"Huh, huh. I had the same dream as before."

Harith tries to recall the dream.

"The war, why was I there, who am I, and... who's that girl?"

Harith starts questioning himself about the dream, still clueless about his identity and the girl's.

The scene changes to show the red-haired girl tied up, looking tired and unable to move. It appears she has been kidnapped and is about to be sold.

"Fffmmmf!"

The scene shifts back to Harith, who is preparing for his first task. He has already packed his gear and saddled his horse.

"Nervous?"

Harith's face looks like he didn't get a good night's sleep, but he doesn't want to use it as an excuse because this is his first journey.

"Hell nah, I'm excited. This is my first mission after a long nap. By the way, where is Brother? I haven't seen him since yesterday."

"He went out early with the other guards on duty."

"I see."

Mr. Zashchitnik hands Harith something.

"By the way, here. Use it only when necessary."

It turns out to be a gun, a six-bullet pistol. It looks old and has scratches, but it still seems functional.

"A gun, but to use it, you need to cast it like arts, right? I still don't know how to use it."

"I'm sure if you focus enough, you'll be able to use it."

"Whoa, thanks, Father. I'll take care of it like it's mine. Okay, we will meet again, Father."

Harith gives a soldier's salute as a farewell before going. Mr. Zashchitnik is a bit shocked by the salute but responds with a smile and a salute of his own.

"Take care, soldier."

"Understood."

Without waiting any longer, Harith starts his journey. After Harith is far away, we see Mr. Zashchitnik standing at the front door.

"It is indeed yours, Harith."

As Harith continues his journey, he grows curious about his gun.

"Hmm, I feel like giving it a try, just to make sure it still works."

Harith looks around to make sure no one is near. He then pulls the trigger and aims at the sky, trying to focus on the instructions he read in a book.

"Focus."

[BANG]

Unexpectedly, Harith has another flashback from the warzone. This time, it is different. He sees himself in charge, commanding a firing squad.

"FIRE!"

As the shots are fired, he sees hundreds of enemy soldiers losing their lives. Some are heavily injured and unable to move, the pain slowly killing them.

"RELOAD!"

The flashback shows Harith commanding the firing squad.

"AIM! FIRE!"

The wounded enemy soldiers try to retreat, but all of them die at the hands of the firing squad.

Current Harith, witnessing such a massacre, starts shivering. Suddenly, Flashback Harith and Present Harith make eye contact. Flashback Harith utters something.

"What the fuck did I just see?"

Present Harith, extremely horrified by the encounter, snaps out of the flashback.

"What the fuck did I just see?"

Harith had only released one shot into the sky, but it made a hell of a sound. The horse gets wild for a moment.

"Was that my previous self?"

As the mystery of his past deepens, his journey continues
