In a fateful evening at the airport, there's a long line of people waiting to get their plane tickets.
Among them is an engineer who has been working for a big company for the last 7 years of his life, yet he has still had no luck finding a partner.
Maybe trying dating app is his best short to finding a partner.
As the men had thought of.
Well, things are about to take a turn when a collision happens.
"BAM!"
A strong clash echoes through the air of the airport.
The man stays dazed on the floor, wondering what happened.
"Augh, my head hurts."
The people around them look at the incident that took place. The two persons that collided is in the centre of attention.
"Auh, auh, auh, my head."
a short woman wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, a pink hoodie, a black shirt, and jeans groan.
"Oh, are you alright?" the man asks the woman, even though he himself still in daze.
The woman doesn't respond to him but instead looks through her bag in search of something.
A moment later, she pulls out a mirror from her bag.
She looks at the mirror to see a small swelling on her forehead.
"Augh... This is bad, this is bad. What am I going to say to the manager if he sees this?" She mutters in worry.
The man regains some of his consciousness and asks her,
"Aren't you going to apologise?"
"I don't have time for this; I will be late for the plane now."
She quickly packs her stuff and leaves the scene without a word towards the man she collided with.
"Isn't it rude now? First, she collides with me, then she leaves without apologising. Jeez, people nowadays."
He utters his annoyance while trying to get back on his feet.
After a while, he gets the plane ticket he wanted and heads for the plane.
By the time the plane takes off, it's already nighttime. The man sits in the economy seat beside the window.
He views the night sky as the plane flies. He thinks to himself, "I have three more planes to go before reaching Singapore. I will be like a dried fruit after I arrive there."
The person beside him is playing his phone, and the light reflects on the window.
The man can see himself because of the light. He then notices a swelling on his head.
"What? This can't be," he says as he touches his swollen forehead.
"That damn woman... This is all because of her, and she didn't even apologise for making it happen."
An anger builds up inside him, but it's not strong enough to make him explode.
"I should probably get some sleep since it will be a long journey," the man thinks as his eyes slowly fall asleep.
14 hours later
He has reached his first destination: India.
"Alright, let's see... Where is the plane ticket to Malaysia?... There it is."
The man hurries over to it.
After he has bought the ticket, he has a few hours of free time since the plane arrives at 8:00 PM, and now it's 4:00 PM.
The man doesn't want to go far from the airport since this is a foreign country.
So he begins looking around the airport to see if there's a place where he can spend his time.
After walking around the airport, he finds an arcade.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to play a little bit," the man says before entering the arcade.
Three hours later
"I'm done playing games. There is one hour left; I should prepare for the plane arrival."
As he's about to leave the arcade, there's a group of people watching someone playing the dance floor game.
It's a short woman... but he puts it aside and goes out of the arcade.
Speaking in Indian:
"This woman is pretty good at the game."
"Yeah, I didn't know a foreigner could be this good."
The woman keeps on playing the dance floor. On her head, "I have an hour left before the plane arrives... until then I will keep on playing."
She wipes the sweat from her forehead. It was the woman from back then.
Back to the man
He decides to have dinner before getting aboard the plane.
This is his first time trying Indian local food. And just like how Indians usually eat, he eats it using his hands.
After gobbling down the delicious meals, he's satisfied.
"I should get going." He pays for the food, and the cashier says thank you.
As he leaves, he wants to go to the toilet since there are about 15 minutes left before the plane arrives.
As he turns to walk to the right, "BAM," a collision happens... Again.
He falls to the ground, and pain is felt in his nose.
"Augh, augh, augh, augh, not this again," he touches his nose.
"Aughhhhhh, ch, ch, ch, not my forehead again," he hears a woman's noise.
The man and woman slowly open their eyes. As their eyes meet each other, they both immediately recognise each other.
"It's you!" both of them say simultaneously.
The woman picks up her sunglasses from the ground.
"First, it was my forehead; now it's my nose. How did I keep on bumping into the goddamn same woman?" the man thinks as he checks his nose.
The woman starts talking, "You should quit stalking me already; if not, I will call the security guard."
"Me!? You're the one who keeps on colliding with me... Not to mention you didn't even apologize the first time," the man says with slight anger.
The woman lets out a sigh before standing up. "Sigh, quit bothering me, you stalker." She then leaves the scene.
The man watches in disbelief as she walks away. "That damn shorty... Patient, patient, you need to keep yourself cool."
He takes a few deep breaths before standing up again.
"I have no time to be inrage; my plane is about to arrive."
He hurries to put his stuff before entering the plane.
After getting aboard, he lets out a breath of relief. "Huuh, that was stressful... What were the chances of me even colliding with the same woman... Guess there's nothing to worry about because that's probably the last we saw each other again."
[It's not :)]
Another day passes, and he reaches Malaysia.
The man needs to take one more flight before reaching Singapore.
"I didn't sleep well last night because of the passenger beside me snoring. The good thing is my flight is about 20 minutes, which is not too long compared to the last flight."
As he sits with sleepy eyes, he hears a familiar sound...
"It's fine... I'm sure it will heal before the concert happens."
"Yeah, right."
It's the woman from before; she is talking to a man... her friend or boyfriend maybe?
How the heck did I keep encountering her? Maybe we just happen to be going to the same places. Yeah, that would explain a lot, the person thought before covering his face with a hat.
"By the way, do you know that the concert is not the only reason why we flew here."
"There is more?" the woman questions the man as she sips the drink she's holding.
"When we reach Singapore, we will be meeting the person you'll be working with. He will manage the technical part of instruments and the network of the system when you're doing a concert or music show."
"Are you sure I need this
person?"
"You are growing fast in popularity, so you definitely need someone who can manage the technical part. You don't have to worry; he's an experienced engineer who excels in all technical engineering with 7 years of experience in big company."
"I hope you are right... But if he is annoying, I want him to leave."
"Hmmm, you just have to wait... Oh, our plane is here; let's go."
"Ok."
(1 hour and 30 minutes later)
"Finally, I reached Singapore."
The man said as he just came out from the plane.
After taking his bag, he looks at his phone.
"So, from what I've been told, I need to go to the Quesar Hotel to meet the person I have a contract with. The person also said that he has booked me a place to sleep, so I don't have to worry about a place to stay. I got nothing wrong with that"
The man raises his left hand, and a car stops by.
He enters the car.
"Where you want to go, sir?"
"Quesar Hotel, please."
"Alright, sir."
5 minutes later, they reach the hotel.
The person pays that man and leaves the car with his luggage.
"Damn, that is one fancy hotel you got there."
The man enters the hotel and takes a quick look at all the fancy stuff inside.
He reaches the receptionist.
"I'm here to meet Mr. Arthur."
"Wait for a moment, sir."
After a quick call, she asks the man to go to the 45th floor.
"Mr. Arthur will be waiting for you there."
"Ok."
The man enters the elevator...
A cool song is playing in the background.
The elevator door opens up as it reaches the 45st floor.
A man wearing a white button shirt with sleeves rolled up to his arms greets the person.
"I didn't expect you to come early."
"I actually came early to have a look around the city.. Youn know since it's not every day you get to be here."
The man in the white shirt extends his hand to that person. "That is true. My name is Arthur. Arthur Reinoff. It's nice to meet you."
"My name is Connor Culzean. Nice to meet you, Mr. Arthur."
"Please, just call me by my name."
"Alright, Arthur."
They start walking.
"Let's go; I will show you your room... Oh, before that, let me show you the person you'll be working with."
"I'm not going to be working for you?"
"No, no, that person also works for me. You two will be working together."
"Oh, okay."
They continue walking until Connor strikes up a conversation again.
"Is this person also new, or have they been working for you a long time?"
"It is actually not a man but a woman, and she has been working for me for almost 2 years."
"Ohhhh, I thought it was a guy, sorry."
"It's alright. We're going to meet her right now.... Oh, and another thing... She can be a bit too much sometimes, so please bear with me."
Arthur said to Connor as they stop in front of a door.
"I wonder how her personality is?" Connor thought.
"Lanita, here is the person you'll be working with."
She is upside down on a sofa reading a novel.
"Huh?"
She pulls up the book from her face to look at Arthur. She notices another person behind Arthur and looks at him.
It was then when they meet one another....
"It's you?"
"It's you?"
They both say simultaneously.
[ The introduction to the male and female lead. I'm getting excited while writing this :D]
Arthur is shocked. "Have you two met each other already?"
"How could I forget the person who bumped into me two times and didn't even care to apologize?"
"Shut up, you monkey!!"
"What did you just say to me now?! If I'm a monkey, you are a gremlin then."
She gasps before staring into each other's eyes.
"Okay, now both of you need to relax," Arthur tries to calm down the situation.
They both look away from each other.
"Alright, let's have a seat first, okay... Let's introduce each other properly."
All three of them sit on the couch.
Arthur is sitting beside Lanita and facing Connor.
Arthur begins to talk. "Let me introduce who she is. Her name is Lanita. She is 23 years old. She works as a singer."
Afterward, Arthur introduces Connor. "Alright, Lanita, this is Connor Culzean. He is 27 years old. He is an experienced engineer who is good in all fields."
"I don't care," She said to Arthur while looking away.
This woman.... Connor thinks as he looks at her.
"You want to become famous, right? He is the right guy who can help you achieve that."
"No!.... I want him to leave."
"He already signed a contract with us, so you have no other choice but to work with him."
At first, she still doesn't agree with it, but after a bit of time, she finally accepts it.
"Sigh.... Fine." She pulls out her right hand to Connor.
She let it go so quickly.... Connor thinks with a shocked expression before doing the same thing, and they both shake hands.
"Great. Now that you two have officially met, we can move on to the next stage. Don't worry; I will tell you both soon what the next plans are. For today, you two can have a rest. Butler...."
A man wearing a white dress enters the room. "Yes, sir, how can I help you?"
"Can you bring Mr. Connor to his room, please?"
"Alright, sir. Please follow me."
Connor looks at the woman before standing up from the couch and leaving the room, following the butler.
After a few seconds of walking, they stop in front of a door.
"This will be your room, Mr. Connor."
"Just calling me Connor is fine.... And thank you, by the way."
The butler opens the door and gives the key to Connor before leaving.
Connor looks at the butler walking away before taking his stuff and entering the room.
"Wooow." Connor is in awe of the view.
The room looks so fancy and beautiful. It's also quite big for a hotel room.
As he looks around, he puts his stuff on the couch.
He then proceeds to have a look around.
"There are two beds, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a huge living room, and a very wide balcony."
"And the view is also astonishing," Connor said as he's on the balcony looking at the view of Singapore City.
It is a sunny day, and a cold breeze can be felt.
"Quite a lot has happened this past few days. I'm not sure if the choice was correct, but ... There is no backing out now."
Connor said as he looks at the scenery.
