But just as he has the chance to change his fate, he is faced with a new obstacle: the novel's protagonist, Zheng Hu, who is aware of Jiu Li's presence. Destiny’s Game

Jiu Li opened the door and glanced out of the classroom.

The delinquents were being suppressed by the teachers. Jiu Li unconsciously let out a sigh of relief seeing that it was safe to come out.

Zheng Hu exclaimed right before Jiu Li stepped out of the classroom.

Jiu Li stopped in his tracks and looked back at Zheng Hu, dumbfounded. After a while, Jiu Li's expression changed, curiosity written all over.

Zheng Hu blurted. Jiu Li flinched. That was unexpected.

For your information, yes we have met before.

"Oh ok, I was just asking because you felt familiar"

How do you feel familiarity? This guy is incredible if he could feel familiarity. Wait no—this is a protagonist from a novel we're talking about, of course he's incredible!

"Umm…I'll be taking my leave now"

Yeah no, I hope I never see you ever again… Still, Jiu Li cracked open a smile.

Jiu Li's voice could be heard from a distance as he ran to his next class.

The bell rang, signaling dismissal. Jiu Li suddenly remembered that the mission was approaching. It wasn't right around the corner, but it was close enough to start preparing for. Jiu Li needed to review the events that had occurred and plan accordingly.

He made a mental note to keep certain areas to avoid and potential resting spots in mind. Any particularly dangerous monsters could be left for Zheng Hu to handle. Leave it to him, he can manage it, after all, he's the protagonist, the author can't just kill him off. I mean, the novel has already been completed anyway, there's no way the author would just change the plot, right?

"Hey! The bell for dismissal rang three minutes ago!"

A voice bellowed out of the blue. Jiu Li flinched. That was sudden… Jiu Li looked up. It was Wei Feng. Since when did Wei Feng attend the same academy as me? Did he transfer to here or something? Never seen him.

"…No? I've been at this school for more than a year already, have you never noticed me?"

What awaited Wei Feng was silence. Wei Feng gave Jiu Li a dazed look of amusement, taken aback.

"Wait—I was just joking but you've really never noticed me, never?"

"Uhm, I'm not proud to say this but yes.."

"Wow—I thought that you would've noticed me…"

"Sorry! I was just preoccupied with something (Zheng Hu) so I never got a good look at my surroundings!"

Jiu Li bowed at a 90 degree angle.

"It's fine, I just feel like I got stabbed im the heart for some reason…"

Wei Feng reassured. But instead of comforting Jiu Li, Wei Feng's reassurance made Jiu Li more guilty. I swear, it wasn't on purpose!
