The Rejected Prodigal

In a grand mansion nestled on the outskirts of a quaint, picturesque town, a boy named Alex was born. His arrival was marked by an extraordinary event – a meteor shower that painted the night sky in ethereal hues. It was said that the heavens themselves had blessed him, endowing him with a gift beyond imagination.

Alex's father, Lord Benjamin Thornton, was a man of wealth and power, ruling over a vast empire of industries. However, his love for his son was as scarce as a desert oasis. He had no time for the peculiarities of a child who, in his eyes, was born without the divine system, a genetic quirk that granted ordinary people the power to bend reality to their will. Alex, born with this rare gift, was regarded as an anomaly, a mere glitch in the pristine bloodline of the Thorntons.

As the years passed, it became evident that Alex was different. He could make objects materialize out of thin air and twist the laws of nature to his whim. The servants whispered tales of his extraordinary abilities while attending to his needs, but those whispers were shushed before they reached the lord's ears.

One fateful morning, Lord Thornton summoned Alex to his opulent study, where he stood amidst towering shelves of ancient books and arcane artifacts. Sunlight streamed through stained-glass windows, casting an otherworldly glow upon his son's young face.

"Alex," Lord Thornton spoke with cold detachment, "I have called you here to discuss your future."

The boy, his azure eyes reflecting both curiosity and uncertainty, stood before his father. "Yes, Father?"

Lord Thornton paced the room, his boots echoing on the marble floor. "You are unlike the rest of us, Alex. You have a gift, the divine system, but it's one I see as a curse. It is an abomination, a stain upon our family's legacy."

Alex's heart sank as he listened to his father's words, for he had always yearned for his father's affection, if not his approval.

"I've made a decision," Lord Thornton declared, his voice resolute. "You will no longer reside in this mansion. You will go far away, to a place where your 'gift' can be kept hidden from prying eyes. You are to remain there, concealed from society, and never to return."

Alex's eyes welled with tears, but he refused to let them fall. "Father, please! I can control my abilities. I promise I won't bring shame to the family."

Lord Thornton's face remained stern, unyielding. "This is the only way, Alex. You must leave today."

Alex was escorted from the mansion by the very servants who had cared for him all his life. The heavy gates closed behind him, and he found himself standing alone in the world, a boy who possessed the power to reshape reality but was now an outcast from his own home.

With the last glimpse of the mansion that had been his prison, Alex turned his back on his past and ventured into the unknown, determined to forge his own path, embrace his extraordinary abilities, and discover the true potential of the divine system that had been a source of shame for his family.
