THE MEETING

Myra looked at Ashley in confusion. "What are you talking about?" she asked.

Ashley, with a determined expression, responded, "Don't play with me; I saw the hand-holding and the way you looked at each other."

Myra rubbed her head, perplexed. "Why would that even matter to you?" she questioned.

Ashley clenched her fist. "We're friends, aren't we?" she retorted.

Myra regarded Ashley with suspicion. "Do you like Dylan?" she asked.

Ashley gagged in disgust. "Eww, no, gross," she exclaimed.

Myra sighed in relief. "You don't have to worry about Dylan and me. I have no intention of being in a relationship with him. He's too young for me," Myra explained. Unbeknownst to Ashley, Myra was genuinely serious about not pursuing a romantic relationship with Dylan.

"I don't want you to get hurt," Ashley confessed.
