Chapter 10 – Tokyo

Third person POV

2 hours later, Akira and his group had arrived at Tokyo. It's been a few months since Akira had visited Tokyo, and he felt that it hasn't changed at all. Not long after, they went straight to Toshi's detective agency, the Shibata Supernatural Agency, near Hatchobori station, and Toshi parked his car at a nearby parking lot adjacent to the agency. After that, they, except for Hachi, unbuckled their seatbelts, and get off the car. Hachi was handcuffed so he needs help, and Toshi did it for him. Standing in front of the agency building, Akira and Riho were marveled by it.

 "Woah, nice building."

 "Is this it?"

"Yes, this is the Shibata Supernatural Agency," Toshi said to them. "Shall we go in?"

Akira and the others agreed, and they all went in.

In the lobby, the receptionist greeted Toshi with a bow, only to be surprised to see that he had brought some kids.

"Um, Toshi-san, are those kids?" she asked him.

Toshi then looked at Akira and the others, before glancing at the receptionist. "Yes, they're here for an uncertainty."

He spoke this with a British accent, causing Akira to wonder if Toshi is a biracial.

"Oh, I see," replied the receptionist. "Are you here to see the president?"

But, the president of the agency, Masashi Tashiro, came asking, "What is going on here?"

Toshi and the others then looked at him.

"Ah, Toshi, you're back," Masashi said to Toshi. "Did you track down that missing person?"

At that point, Akira thought in his mind, "He must be the president of this agency..."

Then, Riho said to him in a low voice, "He looks a bit old. I can tell by its looks."

"Yes, this is him," Toshi answered the president while referring to Hachi.

Masashi was impressed seriously.

But, Toshi continued on, "But, I think we had been used by those who reported him as missing."

Masashi was surprised to hear that, for his agency was never treated as tools by any bad people or companies for evil intent.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked Toshi.

"I mean, this kid says so," Toshi responded while referring to Akira.

Because of that, Masashi approaches the young biracial from the countryside. "It was you, wasn't it? What is your name, kid?"

Akira was a bit nervous, but remains calm.

Masashi was a bit suspicious at his change in behavior.

"Yes, I did that," answered Akira back. "My name is Akira Baybay Satoshi-Cruz."

Others, except for Riho and Hachi, are surprised to hear that full, Western-style name.

 "You're not a Japanese citizen?"

 "Strange..."

"Yes, I said that because I was suspicious, too, " Akira boldly continued. "Can we investigate that one, too? I mean, who are the people who reported Hachi-kun as missing?"

Masashi was once again surprised to hear such smart suggestion from a young boy. (He and Toshi didn't know that he is a genius yet.)

But nevertheless, Masashi agreed to do so and said to him, Toshi, and Hachi, "Let's go to the meeting room."

He then turned to Riho. "You, stay here."

"Okay then," Riho sheepishly replied without resistance.

And so, Akira and the others went to the meeting room in the third floor.

There Masashi shows Akira a piece of paper containing info about the people who reported Hachi as missing. There are only two names, and thus, two people. Akira then grabbed it and took a closer look at it. Masashi lets this since the young boy was curious.

"So, how was it?" Hachi asked him.

"Who are they working for?" Akira asked Masashi and Toshi.

"They're from the Kara Tech," Toshi answered back.

Upon hearing that, Akira was alerted and he began to figure things out in his head.

Eventually, he came to a conclusion that those two people from that notorious corporation had used the agency to track down Hachi.

So, the young biracial said to the president and the detective, "Sir, it seems that those people had used you to track down my friend."

Masashi and Toshi are very surprised to hear that.

"W-What do you mean by that, Cruz-san?"

"I mean, here's the story," Akira said to them.

He then revealed the backstory of his encounter with Hachi from on night.

A few minutes later, Masashi and Toshi were very shocked to hear that.

"But, those people said that Hachi had ran away from them," Masashi commented.

"It was a flat-out lie to use you guys," Akira deduced calmly like a detective. "I mean, Hachi-kun never said that to me and my family."

At this point, the two people from the agency felt being tricked by the Kara Tech, and Masashi was not happy about that.

Hachi then confirmed it with his story of his experience as a human experiment by that corporation.

Hearing that, Toshi jots down some details in his notepad, eager to find out more about it.

At that point, Hachi now realized how smart Akira is.
