Chapter 31 – The Auction Event in Yokohama

Akira's POV

This is gonna be hard. I had to be smart and clever at this mission. I though those words while laying down on my bed in my room. The day was Friday, so I only had until tomorrow afternoon to be prepared. I had my fake tattoos plastered on my arms so I would look like a legit and authentic gangster. For the rest of the week, I had to wear long sleeves to hide it whenever I'm out. But, it's not a discomfort for me at all. I liked clothes with long sleeves almost all the time except during the summer. And so, I hoped a good night's sleep would ease my anxieties.

The next day, I was allowed a half-day at work so I could practice being a gangster for this mission. Hachi said that he'll take over the rest of the afternoon shift for me. I was grateful for him though. And so, after a morning shift of work at the agency, I went to my training class to do some last-minute practice before afternoon came in. The practices are a bit difficult, but I managed to pull them off almost perfectly every time.

So, at 4:20 p.m. in the afternoon, after being given my fake gangster's business card, I went with Toshi, who will be disguised as his driver and bodyguard, to a warehouse in Yokohama. 25 minutes later, we arrived there, and Toshi showed his fake identity card to the guard of the gate to the warehouse so we could enter. The guard took a closer look at it seriously, causing me to be nervous a bit. But, I managed to calm down and act not suspicious. So, the guard gave the card back to Toshi, and we were allowed in. Once inside, we parked the car, and Toshi opened the car door for me. I then grabbed my things and got off, and we started to walk towards the front entrance of the warehouse, which was guarded by bouncers.

There we showed our fake identification to them, and they allowed us in. Upon going inside, we saw the atmosphere in that auction event in that warehouse: gangsters of different kinds gathered and talking to one another. Some of their talks are in languages that I don't understand. But, I heard some words that sounded like in Korean from a gangster, and I can understand that because I can speak a bit of Korean, too.

As the room is a bit loud, we reported to our agency about the situation. Then, Valentino, the one who was monitoring our movements, said to us, "Find some seats for yourselves and act natural."

"Right," we responded back simultaneously in a low voice.

"Did you get some signs of bidding prices?"

"Yes, the highest we can get," Toshi replied with a British accent.

We then found some seats 1 row from the front rows and settled there.

Toshi sat next to me like a bodyguard, while I acted natural and calm to avoid suspicion.
