Chapter 36 - Htet Kawa

Third person POV

Later, at the nearest hospital, a few blocks from the alleyway, Akira and Hachi are now waiting anxiously for the update about the young man's current state. They are sitting on a metal bench outside of a treatment room.

"Hey, Akira-kun." Hachi looked at Akira. "Did I go too far?"

"A little bit," answered Akira back.

 "Sorry."

"It's okay. At least you did that to scare them away."

 "Thanks."

Then, a doctor came out of the emergency room, and Akira and Hachi came to him and asked how the young man was and if he was okay.

"Yes, he's fine," answered the doctor back briefly. "He only had minor bruises on his arms, hip, and stomach, but he's okay now."

To that Akira and Hachi sighed in relief.

"So, you two know that person?"

To that the two boys shook their heads to say no.

"No, we just came across him getting beaten up by some thugs, doc," Hachi added.

"I see. I suggested filing a report to the police about those thugs."

"Sure, I'll do that," replied Akira back.

Then to Hachi. "I'll be back."

He then left the hospital and went off to the nearest police station to file a report against the thugs who had beaten the young man, using his knowledge about their physical appearances.

Later, at 5:11 p.m., Akira came back to the hospital to check on the young man, who was now at one of the wards on the third floor as said by one of the hospital's receptionists. But when he arrived there, he saw that the young man was with a woman and Hachi.

 "Hi there," he greeted.

Hachi and the others then looked at him.

"Oh, hey, dude," Hachi responded back.

"Who are you?" the woman asked him.

Hachi then responded, "Oh, this is my adoptive brother and partner."

The young man, who was on a bed in the ward, then looked at Akira. "Huh? Really?"

Akira then approaches them. "So, how are you, sir?" he asked the young man.

Then, the young man, Htet Kawa, responded, "I'm fine…are you the one who saved me?"

"Yes, I am," Akira said in response.

Htet was touched by what Akira did for him so he tears up a bit. "Thank you…"

Then, the woman, who was Htet's mother, then bowed her head in gratitude. "Thank you for everything, young man."

"No problem, ma'am." Akira smiled at them.

Hachi, meanwhile, was proud of his adoptive brother's bravery for Htet.

Later, once Htet was discharged from the hospital, his mother took him, Akira, and Hachi to her home in Yokohama. There she and Htet welcomed the two junior detectives in their humble home in the neighborhood. Upon entering, Akira and Hachi felt welcomed and entered the house. Htet's father is not yet home.
