It’s the year 2073, and everything has changed. New high-tech dominates almost all aspects of life. However, this has a dark side: unethical human experiments.
  17-year-old Akira Cruz, the genius nephew of the president of the Philippines, was in the middle of grieving for his late best friend when he stumbled upon an abandoned orphan boy in the mountains while on a hike with his younger sister. That boy is Hachi Shimizu, a half-zombie, half-vampire who was disposed of by an evil organization known as the Kara Tech, which was notorious for its brutal and unethical experiments.
  Together, the two boys team up with a detective named Toshi Kawasaki, a half-Japanese, half-British who specializes in the supernatural and also considers the murder case of Akira’s best friend open despite the police closing it due to a lack of evidence. The three of them believed that Kara Tech was somehow connected to the disappearances of various children in and around the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. As they go and solve cases, their friendship blossoms, especially when two people,  Riho Yoshihara, Akira's childhood, biracial friend, and Htet Kawa, a half-Japanese, half-Burmese junior detective from Yokohama, come along in their various missions, both involving the supernatural and the overworld. Will they stop the organization from committing more heinous crimes before it’s too late?

My Best Friend is a Hybrid

And then, a female employee of the agency came into the storage room to get a bag of coffee beans for the coffee vending machine when she saw Akira and Hachi on the floor and against the wall doing something a bit…questionable. She also saw blood on Akira's shoulder as well. She was shocked and became agitated and scared of them. "Um…"

Akira and Hachi heard her and looked at her.

"Woah, it's okay, ma'am," Akira said to her while standing up and trying to calm her down.

"Yeah, it's not what it looks like," Hachi added.

Now the employee remembered about who Hachi is from Masashi, so she calmed down and replied, "Oh, right, president Masashi said that one of you is not a human, right?"

"Okay, sorry for intruding your thing."

"That's okay," Akira positively replied back while wiping the blood from his shoulder with his green, rectangular hand towel, "we're done."

He and Hachi then finished their task in the storage room and left, leaving the employee to get what she was supposed to get.

Back at their department, Toshi freaked out a bit upon seeing Akira's blood on his shoulder and clothes. "What happened to you? Some sort of accident with a sharp object?"

"No, Hachi-kun wanted blood, so I gave him some," Akira replied back.

"Are you sure about that? Are you alright?"

"Yes, I am, no ill effects or anything."

Valentino came and heard everything. "What happened here?"

Toshi then looked at him. "Oh, Valentino-san! Akira-kun allowed Hachi to drink some of his blood."

"Oh, that? That's because Hachi is a hybrid, half-vampire, half-zombie."

Valentino knew that from Akira and Masashi.

Toshi now remembered it and said, "Oh, right, sorry. I was just panicking when I saw Akira with blood on his shoulder and clothes."

Akira and Hachi were dumbfounded by his dumbness.

Later, Akira and Hachi went to Toshi's office because Toshi will be introducing them to a detective from another detective agency. The purpose for this is that Akira and Hachi will be having a collaboration, S-classified case with that detective. And that detective is…
