With one look from her, Zayne handed over the computer to her. He went to show children how to set up movies.
The first thing she did after getting access was to send a mail to the hunter news channel. You need to carry analog video devices, and you would be able to carry them in a lead box straight into the dungeon to set up the video stations. This was a hack that was found in three years time. Analog cameras had long since phased out. Due to the discovery of this hack, all the TV stations began a mad rush for the factories with analog camera manufacturing.
She sent a message to the hunter artist association president.
After all, in her last life, they were the ones who finally found and announced this hack.
Hunter artist association is a group of people who survived by selling dungeon information by drawings. They did a good job with renderings, but even they knew, nothing will beat the real pictures. That is why the association gathered funds to do the research into finding and perfecting this hack.
This is information she knew all too well, because she made side cash selling footage from the dungeons illegally.
Once the information is confirmed, she will earn the remaining pool of bets. As well as royalties for five years from casting of the lead boxes with those specifications. It's not a grand amount, but enough to act as her first capital.
That done, she handed over the computer to Zayne. Zayne had the important task of sorting out information from the guilds and arranging their possible schedule.
Meanwhile, Claire returned to the slime dungeon. She just came here, because she was too lazy to walk the mountain road to collect the bamboo. So she thought she would just teleport to the slime dungeon, walk out and collect a few bamboo branches before returning.
She confidently stepped out of the dungeon door.
Next second, she felt wind rushing, with a blue wall approaching her face faster and faster.
Claire's reflexes are still online. She teleported back into the dungeon, falling flat on her face.
The drop was so frightening, she could not even find the energy to get up. She crawled slowly, putting her head out of the hole.
A deep blue sea swirled around the base of the near steep cliff wall. When she raised her head, she saw some swirling white mist. When she bent her head, she only saw never ending blue, in any direction she turned.
Claire slowly backed down into the dungeon. She flipped like a fish, looking at the dungeon ceiling blankly.
Slowly, her heart calmed down.
Claire gathered herself, for the first time, cast the skill that she has just learned.
' Float. '
She floated up, sticking to the top of the dungeon ceiling.
When she canceled the spell, she fell right on the floor.
' Damn, this is going to need some practice. ' She thought as she fell down.
After some thought, she had an Idea.
If she bores a hole in the wall of the cliff, then, she could tie a rope to the wall. If she flies after tying the rope to herself, she won't fall into the sea, will she ?
During all this time, Claire did not even realize she could just teleport back into the dungeon if she fell down. The sea animals left a trauma on her. If possible, she never wants to touch their slimy squishy bodies again.
However, the disaster of the sea beasts was too widespread for her to ignore, even if she lived in the center of the gobi desert.
Claire just laid down the dungeon floor, then extended her upper body, up till hands, out of the dungeon entrance.
She put her hands on the rock, and tried to sense it using mana. As she concentrated, she was barely able to perceive the structure of the rock.
Then, she put her fingers on either end, spreading out her arms.
She cast ' Desertification ' under her fingers repeatedly.
It was a real slow going process. Each cast used about ten points of mana, shaved off about one millimeter of rock layer. Yet, Claire did not give up.
She cast again and again, at the fastest speed she could, as she kept to her path of most easily crumbling layer. It was almost like a pin bend.
By the time she exhausted her mana, two hours had passed. Her 'desertification' had leveled up thrice. She could now use forty points of mana, and crumble a rock layer the size of four millimeters with every cast.
After she almost exhausted her mana, Claire returned home with the last dregs of her power.
Her body felt like she ran a marathon.
By the time she returned, the rabbit was braised, and the rice cooker was off. They had a hearty meal of meat and rice.
As usual, the children fell asleep after the bedtime story.
" I am going to meditate. " Claire said as Zayne looked at her.
Zayne nodded. He was never in a rush to start a relationship with Claire. Now that Claire knew about his feelings, he had a feeling she would not like other people without telling him first. As long as that is the case, it's perfectly alright for them to get closer slowly.
Brea, Prudence and Claire claimed one of the bed rooms.
The other bedroom was given to Robin, Credence, Dolce and Zayne settled in another bedroom. Robin moved over happily. He has become older. Zayne was the first older male he was close to. He couldn't be happier knowing he will live with Zayne.
The children are put to bed.
Zayne went to the balcony to meditate, while Claire vanished into the slime dungeon. From there, she teleported to the enchanted forest, where the awakening stone was.
She settled aways from the stone on a bamboo mat. Then, she entered her innerworld.
The moons are flickering, as if they could vanish any time. The mana heart looked sickly.
Yet, due to the proximity with the altar, the mana waterfall could be felt far more clearly than when she was away.
Claire flew to the mana waterfall, just like before, she gathered a strand of mana, connected it to her own mana heart.
Then another, and another.
She did it till the mana heart was full, and all the elemental moons were swelling.
It's only then she noticed that the elemental moon for earth was noticeably bigger. Not just earth, so was time and wind. Those were the two elements used a little in the desertification spell.
Hey ! if this was the case, then won't I be able to increase my elemental ability just by using all the spells all the time ? Claire wondered.
Then she cooled down a little, realizing no matter how many times she casts them, they are going to be limited by the total amount of mana she possesses. If she divides her mana between all the spells she could do, she doesn't really cast them many times.
As such, it will be really a long time before she could upgrade all of her skills to the second level.
For now, she will just focus on the ones she has, use them when she can or feels like it. That's about it.
Three hours had passed when she finished her meditation.
Claire did her homework, which was exceptionally light after coming to the fifth class.
The next day dawned bright and early. Claire vanished in the morning, went straight to the bird nests she had seen in the rooster's cage. There were thousands of hens in the dungeon, but only a few roosters. All roosters are fighting roosters with armor and spears. Usually the dungeon is raided for the armor. No one cares about this pile of eggs in the corner. Until now.
In the evening, Claire returned to the slime dungeon to bore holes again. She did it for four days before she managed to come out through the other end.
Zayne was not idle during this time. He built a greenhouse, toiling inch by inch.
Thus, on the first weekend, they planned a trek into the forest, to cut down and collect enough bamboo to make vegetable beds and frames for crawlers.
Claire broke the earth. Together, with the help of children, they built raised vegetable beds, triangular racks at an angle to hold the herbs. Then they separated out two places to plant trees, each filled with the crumbly earth elemental bubbles.
Claire vanished for a moment, then brought back an orange tree and a mango tree. These varieties are dungeon trees. In the dungeon, they will grow in but moments, but here, with the lack of the dense mana that spans the dungeons, the trees should grow slow enough not to cause suspicion.
She buried one green bubble in one vegetable bed, in which they planted lettuce, leek, chives, spinach, potatoes, onions and cucumber. In another, they planted purple cabbage, arugula, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. The green bubble was put in the first vegetable bed. For the others, she just watered them with a can with a green bubble in it.
The next day, Claire returned to see, all the crops in the first vegetable bed had reached the harvest stage.
Just what should I make with these ? she wondered as she looked at the abundant fare in her hands.
