If she did not have teleport, she would never have been able to make it here.

The altar of telekinesis, the exalted altar of all the invisible forces … the unreachable pyramid…

Fortunately, she had 'Fly'.

The view was so magical, Robin suddenly became wide awake.

" Sister ! Where are we going ? " he asked curiously.

" You will know once you get there. " Claire told him.

She floated him up.

The true altar is a spinning red ball, which keeps going here and there in the inverted pyramid. Claire could not touch it directly. As soon as one touches a new altar, initiation begins. She could not become unconscious. Thus, it must be Robin who catches the ball.

Claire went on a chase with Robin on his back. Robin was so excited…

" Sister ! Sister ! Faster ! Faster .. ! Ey ! left, left ! Right .. Down .. faster ! it's going to get away ! Sis… ! " There were only exclamations, orders and admonishments. She did not get impatient or angry with the child's overexcitement.

Instead, she followed steadfastly after the ball, finally robin caught it in his hands. The moment he did, he fell asleep.

" Robin ! You must take in as much as you can till you can't take any more ! " she told him telepathically.

Robin, who was panicking inside his innerworld, calmed down all of a sudden.

Here, he was suspended in the middle of nothing. He can feel the weight and movement around him. He panicked initially thinking he was alone, but since his sister is here with him, no matter what comes at him, she will take him out safely. He knew as much.

So, he let go of himself. He let all those forces into himself. Only then did he feel the shape of the mana core, and the planets swirling around it. A dark gray mana core, oscillating slightly. There are many moons surrounding it, all of them in shades of black and white.

Had Claire been here, she would tell him…

These are cores of kinesis, gravity, antigravity, spirit senses, magic, space, void , fusion and fission… There were more than forty. The moons hit fission, split open to become two moons. At otheroons hit fusion, and combine into one.

All the same, they kept circling around the star in a chaotic mess. At this time, the blindingly bright mana from the altar hit his manacore. The manacore was like a sponge that had met water.

The mana got absorbed, then, absorbed some more, after that, slurped in some more.

Robin laid on the pyramid floor peacefully, as he watched the mana being absorbed into the mana core, from there to the moons.

Meanwhile, Claire returned home, kept a timer for four hours, calmed her mind, and caught on her sleep. From then on, she checked on Zayne and Robin, taking her nap at the pyramid with Robin.

Time had no meaning in the pyramid. Thus, any alarm she brings is useless. As such, she preferred to stay out, but she was afraid Robin would freak out when he did not find her. So, she stayed with him as much as she could. Robin woke up in seven hours.

She set to her daily routine once again. Claire thought seriously about her next decision as she walked the kids to the school. In the end, she decided to go for it.

While the children went to school, she took the bus to the base.

If her guess is correct, then there will definitely be some sort of proof she could find about her origin in her parents home.

Initially, she wanted to confront them. However, after giving it some serious thought, she realized it's not a good idea. If her parents were sellers, and she was kept from the children they sold. That means they are an active part of a child trafficking ring, as such, they might want to kill her to silence her. If they were buyers, then she confronts them. In their panic, they might take a drastic step that harms her more than it harms them.

Last, but not the least, she has not yet decided what she wants back from her parents.

She reached their home in the base easily. They were in a slum where apartments are smaller than rooms stacked one atop another in two hundred floors. Her parents' apartment is on the thirty eighth floor. She went straight for the stairways. They are not monitored. She came out of the stairways, floating an inch off the ground, then, went straight for her parents door.

With her perception, she sensed the metal, opened the lock from inside. The door swung open.

She went in. Claire used perception straight away instead of opening cupboards and checking.

A false board in the kitchen cabinet.

She opened it - just money !

she gave up right away, went into the house to check for the safe, and any other boxes.. There. There's something under her brother's bed. One pull is enough to know it's only porn.

' At this rate, I will find all the dirty secrets of this house, ' she lamented, as she looked around.

There ! a false book.

She pulled it, thinking it's a book. It wasn't. Instead, it was a door.

The cabinet had an entire false back, which had been integrated into the wall .. almost.

Only, this time, she found real keepers.

There was armor, made of ironback pig's skin. Then, there was a necklace. And a teddy bear necklace. Along with the necklace, there was a ring, as well as a dagger. She had taken both the ring and the dagger, but left the armor alone. Today, she did not come prepared, so she would not take the bulky armor. Moreover, ironback armor has no mana effect, so it's probably useless.

The ring though, was a space ring. It only contained books. Storage rings can not be used by everyone. You need to have a space element, no matter how low. However, most hunters have enough power to operate a storage ring, so it's a bit of a moot point.

However, she did not leave immediately.

She looked for all the official documents they held.

It's only after looking at the household register did she know. She had never been her parent's daughter. From the beginning, she was registered under her uncle's name. It was more of her uncle leaving her with them to take care of her, and they actually took advantage of her.

From the time she was three, she did all the chores in the house that she could manage. She was starving for love, she was malnourished, miseducated, and used like a slave, in the name of family. In the end, she was not even family. She found other documents.

When she read the documents, she regretted that she did not kill or cut off Dinkin wale's head when she had the opportunity.

The boy had gone off hunting in a slime dungeon, but he wanted no one else to attack a slime save for himself. His bloody guardians killed any men who tried to fend off slimes, for the slimes died at the slightest touch at this time. In the end, when her uncle tried to remove a slime choking his fellow guard. The guardians stabbed him, at the orders of Dinkin.

Ideally, her parents had the opportunity to sue the base leader, for at that time, he was in contention with another hunter for the position of base leader. However, instead of suing, they settled. They settled for this shitty apartment, a measly monthly income, and an opportunity for her uncle's son to attend a prestigious academy.

Claire had the strangest feeling that perhaps both Robin and herself are not children of this uncle. Genes are not wildly oscillating in life like they do in novels. Sisters and brothers resemble each other. But this semi hunter uncle of hers… his mana values are atrocious.

Given how brave he had been in saving a comrade, and how he transferred half his salary to his brother for supporting him, she thinks he probably saved them.

Perhaps, he was even investigating her origin - and the connected search took him over to the place where he had found Robin.

..

.

If so, there definitely must be notes of investigation. Where are those ? There are few things she learned in her career about investigation.

One of them is ' Numbers don't lie'.

Thus, she looked for the bank accounts next, and verified it against the information she knew.

As she looked at the expenses, she realized.

There's a recurring expense, for a locker in the golf club.

' Found you ! ' she thought as she looked at the address.

She noted down the address, then settled everything like it was, and left the place immediately. She checked out the golf club.

The security was too tight for her to get in easily. Moreover, in the base, there are rings that you live in. her parents lived in the fourth ring, which is just a step above abject poverty. the fifth ring is literal hellhole.

The golf club was in the second ring. As such, she must have a permit. Her investigation came to a halt like that, but what she did find was not bad either.
