The moon hanging high in the sky, the hooting cries of owls echoed through the dimly lit cemetery,
louis walked with trepidation, constantly straining his eyes to see what lay ahead.
Yet with all this, an annoyance brew in his heart,
_what the hell am i even doing!?_ he thought.
_who brings someone to the cemetery without any proper explanation oh! could they really be occult worshippers?_ louis thought, as he turned to thee corner of his eyes,
Taking a secret view at the suspicious trio.
louis wasn't liking this,
he came here in hope of something fun, so far he had been doing nothing but looking around for something he had no idea about...
_And the worst of it_ he thought, _is that their not even helping!_
Now completely fed up with the nonsense, louis voiced at his complaints, "oi.. what exactly are we doing here?.. you have not told this savior what is going on"
Catherine dressed in a black trouser and tightly fit white shirt glanced at louis, her hair tied into an elegant bun,
"nothing much. We're just wondering if you will trigger something"
"trigger something?" at this moment, louis was wondering if by chance this trio was perhaps actually full of lambshit.... _did i really put myself in such a situation?_ right now, louis was wondering to either facepalm himself, or perhaps just make a run for it.
But suddenly the surroundings grew eerie silent, so much so that even the owls and crickets were in perpetual silence.
This made Louis's neck to tingle, as cold shivers washed through his body, _what's that? why did everything just get quiet?... is something interesting going to happen?_ louis felt the excitement within him reignite, as the thought of something marvelous happening.
Sensing something amiss, the trio stood guard, their eyes darting and glancing at every gravestone, corner or darkness.
Wondering so, louis too began to look at the grave stones, _would something come out from them?... could the radiant gospel warning be true?_ louis wondered.
Unknown when but the environment was suddenly screened by a crimson shade of red, illuminating in place of the blue moon.
Noticing the change, catherine slowly rose her head to look at the sky,
There she "saw" a crimson moon hanging high on the sky,
Suddenly, "Aahhh!" a scream escaped her lips,
Red crimson blood began to flow from her eyes, her head was no bulging with a numerous slithering snake like veins,
Gritting her teeth, she shouted, "Do not look at the sky!.. do not dare!... They will see you!"
louis who was about to look to the sky to discover the reason for the crimson shade was startled by Catherine who had fallen to the ground with her hands on her face, and blood dipping from the cracks of her fingers,
"what's going on!?" louis exclaimed, confused on what he had missed.
Meanwhile, alaric and hermen acted quickly, almost as if they were familiar with such a situation..
Hurriedly, hermen took out a small transparent tube filled with round brown pills, from his long black coat.
uncapping it, he fed one of them to catherine who still knelt on the floor with blood dripping and veins burgling, "eat up, this must be the "depository" we were sent to investigate..alaric get ready!"
Equally shacked by the crimson light, and Catherine's sudden bust, alaric dressed in a blue shirt and black pants cast a glance at louis, who was barely a few meters from them, "but isn't it banned to review beholder powers before a normal person?"
Hermen was unusually cold and collected, and was acting like a total stranger to who he formally was, "we can discuss the rules once he get out of here..now do as your told!" casting his eyes at a dark corner slightly illuminated by a crimson shade of light,
his eyes seemed to flicker gray for a moment, "i think a "wall" has already formed.. now act fast, and do as your told!"
The loud command drilled into alaric, who now as a result hesitated no longer.
Louis on the other hand was perhaps as a fish out of water, he was beyond confused on what was happening, yet a fear within him prompted him not act rashly or dare to look at the sky, _beholders?..ability?..did..i perhaps. Really find..something extremely fun?_ a smile curled up on his face.
Not caring anymore about the bystander louis, alaric raised his right and forward and muttered in a language that seemed to draw in the surrounding sounds to it, it sounded like thorin, but yet felt far ancient than it.
Following a black liquid gushed out from alaric's hand, slowly dripping down- next the gushing black liquid condensed, taking the form of a hard iron like material.
Wielding the black material like a sword, alaric shouted in an ethereal voice, "The Lady of Night commands, "night has come!"
Suddenly almost as if the world was obeying his words, the crimson light that illuminated the cemetery began to dim, but yet didn't completely vanish,
"this?" louis muttered.
He wasn't one to deny a truth before him just because of some beleive..and right now, he was seeing something mystical and utterly impossible happen, _they have mystical powers_
With that realization came louis, who dashed towards hermen who held catherine in his hands- seemingly trying to stabilize her. "Need help" he asked, his usual mischievous smile gone, replaced by a composed and vigilant expression.
Not caring for the reason for louis's sudden demeanor, hermen passed him Catherine and commanded, "Don't let her say anything. And here" hermen paused the glass tube with brown pills inside, "if she begins to shake again, give her this"
Collecting the tube given to him, louis wondered on its use, _would this give me powers if i took them...no no..not yet, better learn about it first_ louis reined in his thoughts as he tightly grasped Catherine, his eyes still washing the two men who were displaying impossible feats.
Hermen speaks to alaric, "so can't command the light away?"
"this depository is most likely at the mid generations" alaric responded with a firm tone,
"perhaps a fifth generation?" hermen said.
But without any time to waste, he immediately closed his eyes, and from his coat he pulled out a glass bottle with a silver powder substance inside.
He then slowly opened his mouth and spoke in a language that seemed to merge with the surrounding sounds, creating an ethereal feeling in ones ears, he threw in the powder into the air. And.
Suddenly, the ground began to quake as a clapping sound could be heard echoing from a distance yet sounded eerily near,
Louis felt his heart grip in fear, it reminded him of a story Adelia had told him,
The story of the clapping monster who slays at night!
_that nonsense can't be true?...right?_
A Silhouette of a figure emerged from a distance, his body slowly made preview by the dimming crimson light,
it was a dressed in a black hooded robe which covered all it's body, yet something was amiss.
A giggling sound followed by more clapping emerged from the figure, its robes swaying from an invincible wind.
Seeing this, hermen's eyes flickered gray, "GET READY!" he screamed, cold sweat forming on his head.
"ROOAR!"
An invisible force sent alaric hurling through the air, crashing into a tomb stone.
Without a moment to waste, hermen gripped his hand and threw an air punch at the figure,
Louis was startled as to why hermen would punch from such a distance, _what did he want to hit?.. the air?_
suddenly a whistling sound resonated and the creature was sent flying back,
louis who saw this suddenly had an epiphany, _it was invisible_
As the invisible attack hit the creature, its body flapped almost as if no solid object had been hit, and hermen understood it.
with a firm tone, "there no body inside it.. its a type of mutated spirit, probably caused by the depository"
Alaric abruptly stood at a distance, his body covered in debris and dirt, on his right hand a black sword like object was held. "then we can't purify it. we don't have any sun related abilities and Catherine is out" Alaric once again spoke in a different tone, and louis was beginning to notice this as a trait in this trio.
"am not out yet" a groggy voice echoed, originating from Catherine who was standing up from Louis's arms, her eyes no longer dripping blood.
"are you okay?" hermen inquired,
"Good enough to deal with that. its not the main issue, we have to destroy this depository before it fully opens" Catherine spoke firmly, her eyes occasionally twitching due to pain.
"okay. lets go" hermen commanded.
The trio steeped forward, while louis remained in the back, excitement and fear brewing in his heart,
Fear for the fact that he crossed such powerful people, he couldn't even imagine what would happen to him if they took revenge.
Alaric dashed forward with his black blade in hand, the hooded figure at some point had began to hover on the air,
Jumping up with remarkable agility, alaric slashed at the creature.
crimson blood splattered from the robe as a loud screech emanating from the spirit resounded.
Hermen placed his hand in his coat and pulled out yet another bottle, downing down the liquid, hermen grasped the thin air, and a transparent rode appeared.
Drawing back, he threw it at the spirit who remained distracted by alaric's onslaughts.
"Bam!"
The spear pierced into the hooded robe, sending it tumbling down with a loud bang.
without giving it a moment to rest, Alaric created another black blade and rushed at the creature, it hacked and slashed, with crimson blood spewing up and down like the rain.
Suddenly, an invisible force sent Alaric flying out, with his stomach pierced by a wooden branch and blood gushing out.
Alaric's face contorted due to the pain, but quickly he took out a tube and downed a pill from inside it. Soon after, the blood stopped gushing, and visible signs of healing was seen in the point of injury.
The hooded robe began to shake and flutter violently as it hoisted into the air, as if an invisible force had gripped hold of it,
Abruptly, Catherine who had been silently muttering something shouted, "Moonlight!"
A silver beam of light descended from the sky, and enveloped the hooded figure.
it screamed in pain, as it's body was being evaporated by the silver light.
Catherine swiftly shouted again, "SHUT YOUR EYES!"
Before louis knew, a blinding silver light engulfed everything.
Under the brilliance of the silver light, louis felt calm and tranquility- so much so that without knowing it, he dosed off.
...
Unknown how long had passed, louis found himself in a strange yet familiar place.
He was standing atop an iron floating ship, dressed in black robe and on his head, an iron crown laid atop.
Below his lofty ship, was countless blurry figures engaged in what appeared as a war conflict.
_this... did i fall asleep?_ "wait! what if that creature attacks me?"
Louis had began to feel terrified at the prospect of his death coming when he slumbered,
"i have to wake up... but how do you wake from your dream?"
louis glanced down at the violence below and a smile curled up, "you do the same thing that woke you before"
And with that, louis leaped down from the ship, and with a big bang..
Crashed down like a fallen comet.
