Almost killed?
"Get me everything you can on the prime minister's first daughter".
"Alright boss".
Miguel said and left. Jason remained in his study until it was late in the night. He didn't even know that it was that late until he heard a know on the door and checked the time on his phone.
"Come in".
I put my head in first and I saw him smile lightly so I walked in.
"I didn't see you throughout today".
I said with my hands joined together.
"Sit".
He said and I sat on one of the couches in his study.
"Did you miss me"?
He asked as he stood up from his desk to join me. I said nothing and just smiled lightly. After a while of silence, I looked and noticed he didn't look completely calm.
"What's wrong? Are you okay"?
I asked and he looked at me probably surprised that I asked that. He then smiled and said.
"You are being very observant. You even know when something is wrong with me".
He said sweetly but somehow, I could tell that he was trying to avoid the question. Just when I was about to speak again, he first me to it.
"It's no big deal, I'm working on it".
He said and I noticed he didn't want to talk about it so I kept quiet about it.
There was a knock on the door and Miguel walked in.
"I'll let you two talk".
I said and left. Jason stood up and went back to his desk.
"That was faster than I thought".
He said and Miguel dropped an envelope on his desk.
"This was all I could get but I'll be sure to track her every move and get back to you".
Miguel said and Jason took the envelope and opened it. After he saw something in it, one of his brows raised and he looked at Miguel.
"She was almost killed"?
He asked but Miguel didn't look so fazed maybe because he had seen all of it before coming to give his boss.
"It looks like she planned it".
Miguel said after some time, making Jason look at him again.
"What do you mean by that"?
He asked and Miguel handed another file to him.
"I found it weird that a girl like that would just let anyone push her so I went to check and there was an anonymous comment back then".
He then pointed at the comment leaving Jason to figure out the rest.
"I was there that day. Melissa took her younger sister to the school rooftop and fell off in front of her sister. She made it look like Anita had pushed her and after that, Anita had to go abroad to study. I felt really bad for her but I couldn't say anything back then".
That was what the comment said but it was written recently and almost everybody had forgotten about the post so no one saw it.
"Where is Anita"?
Jason asked.
"She is currently at Royal Haven Hotel".
Jason looked at him again.
"She is at our hotel"?
Miguel nodded.
"Why"?
He asked.
"I heard she was chased from home and Miss Nadia asked her to stay there".
Jason nodded showing that he understood.
"Keep an eye on Anita too. There is a huge chance that her sister might want to use her again".
I thought it would be a really long night but I slept pretty early and I woke up just as early.
I wanted to see Kay today and find out if he knew what was wrong with his dad but he had already left for school before I came out.
Kay got to school pretty early. He was working on a science project with his teacher. If he did something exceptional, he could go for a competition and eventually get a full scholarship to the university.
He was working really hard on it and he was also working really hard on keeping it a secret.
Knowing the capability of his dad, he knew he could find out at any time but he didn't want him to know. Not until he gets the scholarship.
"Yo! Kay!!"
Fiona called but he was in such a hurry to get to the teacher's office that he didn't even hear her.
Fiona tilted her head slightly.
"Why is he acting all suspicious"?
She then giggled and jumped.
"Well, I'm about to find out".
She began hopping in the direction Kay followed. When she got to the office, she noticed that he was having a very serious conversation with the classroom teacher.
"What could they be talking about"?
Meanwhile, in the teacher's office, Kay was sharing his progress with his teacher.
"I'm thinking of making a mini device that stores necessary information. It will be able to connect with the mind and record when the conversation is getting serious. That way, one won't be able to forget something important in a hurry".
The teacher looked at him and smiled. Some might think it is nothing but it was actually very important and probably impossible to make.
"What about the AI you wanted to make"?
The teacher asked.
"This is also an AI in a way. Most people will be focused more on one particular thing. Making something that can answer your questions. I don't want to do something that every other person is doing".
His teacher nodded in agreement.
"You'll still make the substance right"?
He asked and Kay nodded.
"Good, now, here".
His teacher said while dropping a paper on the table. Kay picked it up and began reading it.
"I already signed you up for the competition and you passed the sign-in stage".
His teacher then held him by the shoulder and said.
"Let's bring in our A game okay? You are going to present two things in a short time so make it worthwhile".
Kay nodded and soon, he left the office.
As soon as Kay walked out of the teacher's office, Fiona startled him from behind.
"Boo!!"
"Goodness Fiona!! You startled me!!"
The girl began laughing endlessly. It was so nice to tease him.
"What are you doing here"?
He asked.
"I should be asking you that question. What were you and Mister Jake talking about"?
