Harvey
I thought it would be fun to introduce Alice to the pack through a nice gathering. A welcoming dinner might be a good choice. She could meet every member of the pack and talk with them casually like an old friend. I believed Alice would be the warm person she usually showed when she was at work.
So, I decided to ask Kendra to help her get some outfits done. My Luna should look flawless, and prettiest, and every nice word a person could hear from others. No, I wasn't a narcissist who loved being praised. I just love to make her feel special. To make her know that her life wasn't miserable like it used to be.
Because now, she had me. And I could even give a whole world for her if she is asking.
"You should meet Kendra after lunch, Baby," I said to her while she was dressing up in the room.
I strode towards her and hugged her tiny body closely. I loved how she smelled so sweet and nice every time. And her smell is my new addiction.
Could you be addicted to a cocoa scent, anyway? Because that is what Alice always smells like. A sweet and warm chocolate in the morning that made you feel comfortable and at ease.
"But for what, Harvey? A casual talk, huh?"
I shook my head and leaned to kiss her lightly.
"No, Kendra will take your measurements and help you to find something to wear for our dinner. The pack's dinner, Baby."
She let out a small "oh" and nodded her head in approval. I cupped her face and kissed her once again. How could her lips even taste like sweet chocolate? I thought I might be crazy because I would always find myself craving for her every time.
"So, ready to meet the Beta couple?" I said while offering my hand to her.
She grinned and looped her arms around mine. Then we were walking side by side with hands tangled together like a couple who are madly in love.
And I never thought that loving someone could feel so easy.
We arrived at Kendra's boutique a little past lunch hour. She was having a meal in there with Jordan. A couple of workaholic beings who loved to be surrounded by work. Of course.
"Hey, Jordan! Hey, Kendra!" I yelled to them while waving my hand.
Jordan turned to face me and smiled. Both of them quickly stood up and marched their way to Alice and me.
"What's up, Harvey! Have something to do here?" Jordan asked while patting my shoulder.
"Yeah, Alice needs some of Kendra's work for tonight. Help her out, will you?"
Kendra nodded in agreement and pulled out her graceful smile. Like a swan in action.
"Of course, Alpha. I will gladly help Luna to be the most shining star tonight." She clapped her hand happily.
Then Kendra held out her arms and took Alice's hand.
"Please follow me, Luna."
Both of them walked to the back of Kendra's boutique. A few minutes later, Kendra and Alice had already disappeared behind the endless lines of clothing racks.
The smile on Jordan's face swiftly changed when the girls weren't around. He turned into a serious mode and I could sense something wrong hanging in the air.
"Because you seemed to be a lot better, I think we need to talk seriously, Harvey."
I sat and he followed me to sit across me.
"Is it about Ironmaw?" I asked him.
Jordan bobbed his head. I knew something was off. I had been too busy acting like a lovebird for these past three days and I almost forgot my responsibility as Sableclaw leader. I was too drowned in our love to the point any other anything outside of our bedroom seemed irrelevant.
And I needed to get my head straight. It was time for me to be back as an Alpha again.
"Tell me. What happened?" A slight worry coated my words.
Ironmaw were the cunning ones after all. They have countless dirty tricks up on their sleeve and my fingers weren't even enough to count them. And that stupid endless feud between our pack had engrained in our veins - making Romans always target their attack on us.
It wasn't like we were a bunch of weak creatures. Sableclaw was one of the strongest packs in this area. But everybody knew, even the mightiest knight could lose from a mere sly fox.
"I think they planning something on us. An attack probably." Jordan said to me while unlocking his phone.
"And why you said that? I don't think Ironmaw could enter our territory either, Jordan."
He sighed.
"Don't forget about Flora, Harvey. It was our fault that kid was killed in that cruel manner."
This time, I was the one who let out a heavy breath. Right, Flora. The youngest member and the orphan in our pack. What a pity that she must face an unfortunate accident and meet her end.
How could I forget her? Her death still haunts me every night. Making me feel guilty in every breath I took.
"I will never forget about Flora, Jordan. Ironmaw had crossed so many limits we set and I thought they would never stoop any lower than that."
Jordan shook his head. Then he showed me some photos on his phone. Those were the photos of burning crops. Our crops. The main source of our food stock.
They burned our farm to dust.
And to my horror, someone was tied to a wooden stake in the middle of that burned farm. Ironmaw had burned a human only for the sake of that stupid feud.
"They incinerated our food stock and livestock. We are in danger of starvation and a possibility of food shortage, Harvey. And you see." He pointed to the burning person in the photo.
"They kidnapped a human and blazed him like a witch in Salem."
I brushed my face with my palm harshly. Damn it, Ironmaw. Was it so hard for them to live in peace and not cause any trouble?
"Who is this human?"
Jordan shook his head. A sign of unknowing something important and I could see it made him feel desperate.
"We still haven't known it yet. But I suspect, it was one of the new hunters who was training in the woods."
"Roman needed to be punished for real," I muttered with anger.
"We should arrange a meeting with the A team first, Harvey. How about tonight after dinner?"
I nodded. We have no time. We should act fast before Ironmaw made another trouble. And I believe they planned something bigger than these soon.
We were so deep in our discussion that and didn't realize the girls had back from the fitting room. They stared at us in confusion because how could we not hear the clanking steps of Kendra's heels echoing through the room?
"What are you guys talking so seriously about?" Kendra asked while investigating our expression.
Jordan quickly masked his previous expression with a smile. As if a switch was being turned on, his foolish lover's smile rose again when he saw his mate in front of him.
"Nothing, Babe. It's nothing. How about Luna?" He quickly changed the topic.
A split second later, Alice walked out from Kendra's back and showed us her new dress. A deep purple dress with a bodice that hugged her tiny frame nicely. The lower part dangled gracefully until her ankle and a few Swarovski were spread on the hips. Making her look exactly like a living doll.
"How do I look like, Harvey?"
I gaped in awe. I was dazed by her beauty and went speechless like a fool. She looked so stunning. An ethereal beauty for my eyes to savor. And a perfect embodiment of a sexy cutie.
My sexy cutie.
I heard Kendra's laugh on my side. She nudged Alice's hip while smiling proudly.
"Then I guess it's a yes, Luna."
Alice smiled shyly. A sweet smile that made me want to snatch her into my arms and keep her in my pocket.
Oh, shit, she was walking to me. My breath picked up its pace and went faster a bit. Damn, I needed to control myself. I shouldn't be a nervous mess every time my mate approaches me.
You are a lame werewolf, Harvey! A weird Alpha who always acts like a clumsy ass whenever his mate is around.
"You like it?" She asked while lifting her face to see me. Her round eyes made her face look even cuter for me.
And I wanted to squeeze her cheeks so bad.
I leaned closer and whispered to her.
"I like it. But I prefer you without it, though."
She glared her eyes at me. And I laughed seeing her bothered reaction. She punched my chest again. A habit that I found so amusing to me.
"Harvey!"

The dinner went smoothly. Thank you, Moon Goddess! You had granted me with a social butterfly mate that had no problem mingling with everybody.
Thanks to her easygoing personality, I could see every our pack member adored her so much. They respected her as their Luna. But also cared for her as the newest member of the pack who needed a lot of training in every field.
Alice shook hands with everybody. Her signature bright smile always appeared on her face. Her face lit up if she found a similarity between her and the other member. Alice seemed so genuine with her relationship. As if she did want to become part of our family. The Luna.
In the middle of endless chit-chat, I saw a middle-aged man walking toward us with a gentlemanly smile. He is Elliott, the pack's trainer. The one who helped us to nurture our skills and be the strongest werewolves in a fight.
Elliott shook his hand with me and Alice. He came with a mission and I could smell it.
"So this is our Luna?" He asked.
I nodded. Alice smiled politely.
"I heard that you were a human. A new wolf, huh?"
Alice nodded this time.
"So when is the time?" Elliott asked again.
I raised one of my eyebrows in confusion.
"Time for what?"
Elliott chuckled then stared at me and Alice alternately.
"Time for her to be a real werewolf."
