Storm of Hearts, Part Six

{Mel}

Mel put on her armor.

Or, well, what she called her armor. All she had were some leather rags, her running shoes, and an iron plate that, if others' experiences online were anything to go by, even average Fiends could cut through like butter.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she thought to herself that if she had to place her faith in someone who looked like her to protect her from monsters out in the wild, her conclusion would simply be:

[I'm fucked.]

The mere possibility of fighting still scared her, but she had to go through with it.

She had a crush she wanted to impress.

[I could ask her for help, but... No,] Mel shook her head as she tied the laces on her shoes. [I want her to see a transformation.]

There was a high chance nothing she did would matter, but she still wanted to try to shock Lianna somehow. So, Mel walked out of her room and made her way to the Player's Gate.
